We got screwed with Gonzaga being the 8 seed in our region.
They are 9th in Kenpom and 11th in Torvik.
That is 3 seed territory
But, you know who really got screwed? Gonzaga!

We should beat them but they are the strongest out of all the 8/9 seeds in my opinion.

If we can’t beat Gonzaga in their worst year in recent memory, we don’t deserve to be at the big boy table. I also think Georgia beats them. Time will tell

I don’t know that I would want Louisville or UConn either.
That said, I think Gonzaga is probably the toughest. But I’d rather have them over Auburn in 23 (in Birmingham) or Aggie in 24. I think Gonzaga will struggle with our style.
I also think the rest of our bracket shapes up pretty well. And it’s not supposed to be easy.

Two out of 4 ESPN analyst picked UH vs Florida in championship game, but both picked Florida to win (in fact, if I remember correctly, I think all 4 analyst picked Florida to win it all)

Tough player, but so is Caleb Love, Mark Sears, VJ Edgecombe. We’ve scouted explosive scorers before
Nolan Hickman is probably like a Chance McMillan type. Make him put it on the floor
The 2 big ones for me making things difficult on Ryan Nembhard and Graham Ike

They struggle with St Mary’s style of play. We are St Mary’s on steroids. I’m usually a very scared/pessimistic fan, but I think we are a tough matchup for Gonzaga.

Gonzaga is a tough second round matchup but so was Texas A&M, Auburn, Illinois & Rutgers and so on…only one that wasn’t so difficult was 2019 against Ohio State…

Zag’s defense is ranked 29th.
They’re offense ranks 9th. The teams that give us trouble is the team that plays defense like TT did at home. Gonzaga is not the same strong team like they were a few years ago.

Biggest thing that stands out about Gonzaga is that they are #4 in the country in turnover percentage at 13.4%. Nembhard is a very good PG averaging nearly 10 assists per game.
