Uniforms for UTSA game are out. Trigger warning for Old Coogs before clicking on the thread

LOL Coming on to Coogfans what should I expect but negativity

These uni’s are FIRE and a home run nationally as well as locally. Brilliant marketing move for UH

Blowhard garrulous text

Most associate that color with the oilers. But the city of Houston was a thing before the oilers. I bet most people don’t know what color our city flag is.

The Dallas Cowboys play in Arlington. Doesn’t seem to bother anyone except the Dallas city council who screwed the pooch when the Cowboys left Irving

I’m an alum who lives in San Antonio and absolutely love the unis and embracing what “For the City” means.

You in Bolder with the family yet?

If a city-based University selects a one time, alternate jersey that 100% reflects the city they’re in, and you as a fan don’t like it because you’re from Dallas and grew up a Cowboys fan or whatever, then sorry, I don’t know what else to tell you. This ain’t for you.

If the roles were reversed, I would 100% not care because this is clearly not created for me, it’s for the locals that make up the majority of the students/alumni.

TL/DR….agree to disagree.

Nobody said it was exact but similarities. But have at the differences.

And Sir Hugh was around long before the city and his colors were Scarlet and albino

SA never had an NFL team. Other UH alums come fom cuties that do

The uniforms are cool and seem to have overwhelming support. It’s just that they are not Coog uniforms which I prefer. I’m not upset, just not an enthusiast.

So much hype, great national press

I’m definitely more of a traditionalist, but I love these.

You’re right. Its not for me, an alum of the school. Its for city residents that have no ties and based on historical attendance have not supported the school. Hope they pick up some casuals related to something that has nothing to do with the school

But… its the city colors. its ok to say its for Oilers nostalgia. Why do some try to claim its because of city colors?

Bravo, love the uniform, Go Coogs!!!

And, you would be wrong. If you open your eyes and read what the national media is saying about this campaign, you’d see that it’s doing the opposite of what you’re scared of. This campaign is doing exactly what you want for the UH…positive accolades.

Bingo!!!

Go back and watch the intro video released to announce the use of these uniforms. The one narrated by Carl Lewis. It’s all about the City of Houston, and never once mentions the Oilers.
