I think “Coogs” across the helmet would have met that requirement and could have been a nice touch.

I’m fine with Houston on the helmet, but like your suggestion for Coogs. Also would have liked the skinny interlocking UH. Maybe on next year when we wear the blues!

Is that video being shown on tv here in Houston? I haven’t seen it yet, but it’s so well done, I hope it gets a lot of play on tv.

This is cutting edge, nobody else is doing it. Oregon has a 1,000 uniform combos and most of them are ugly, but the players eat it up because it’s different. I would love to do a homage jersey every season to a famous jersey from Houston history. Maybe something with the Astros’ tequila sunrise or the Rocket’s ketchup and mustard, obviously a one off but how many time can we auction off black jerseys or throwbacks to the same era.
BRING ON THE HATE!!! Watch pretty soon we are going to see throwbacks with the fat logo…your heads are going to explode.!.

You probably didn’t recognize me because I was only 13 at the time and didn’t have sparse white hair. The place was packed and they had bleachers set up in the endzones. I was a huge Billy Cannon fan because at that time I was an LSU fan. We had moved here from Baton Rouge in 1959 and moved back in 1962.
No wet cat at midfield, please.

Generally I like our traditional uniforms with the UH. I think it helps in establishing a national brand. That said the uniforms are great. When we go back to our traditional uniforms substitute the Oiler blue for our navy piping. Ditch the black uniforms forever it isn’t a school color. It looks too much like Tech.
Would be nice if some of the Oilers were invited and introduced.

Hey . . . I get what you’re saying. When I first saw the uniforms my mind went immediately to “Oilers nostalgia”
. . . but as I watched the video, it became clear to me that the only reason that happened was because they happen to be football uniforms in the old colors of our Houston Oilers, But this is really about the city, which admittedly the Houston Oilers were a big part of. The “Luv Ya Blue!” days were electrifying. . . . and as I said in an earlier post, there’s no harm in trying to capture some of that excitement.
