Size is not what makes someone physical……it’s a mindset.
Exactly, I agree.
Carlton is the bigger than Dandridge btw.
I wasn’t referring to size.
Purely potential to be a more physical version.
enhanced by changing the aspect ratio of photos too!
Yes he will!!
Holy Crap!!!
Being physical is a mindset and with some inherited.
Carlton was a scrapper and that’s why we wanted him. Dandridge has never been that and underperforms.
This guy would be a home run. Rebounding and defensive force
I think you are overthinking my comments and missing a key word at the same time.
“Potential” - Something that can develop.
See Rodman, Dennis
I agree with this… He definitely has underperformed.
I would love for someone to pull back the curtain and explain how the coaching staff keeps track daily of those entering the portal and how they evaluate if they are a fit. This transfer portal is like drinking from a fire hose. I would imagine they see if there is any Houston connection and reach out to contacts who know the player. Also, how is NIL introduced into the conversation when recruiting? Does the coaching staff refer the player to Linking Coogs and not get involved? NIL during recruiting is still very fuzzy to me.
you are looking at UH carlton…
any claim people made about dandrige was made about carlton coming in… probably worse…
you can comp a UH player to their pre-UH player…pre-UH carlton definitely also “underperformed”… he had barely any teams recruiting him for that reason… it was us or ECU when he commited…
i would like a more touted player coming in, but if we just missed on every major big target, and landed on dandrige i would not complain … dandrige is not as big as carlton, but is surprisingly nimble for a 260lbs guy, with all muscle …
Let’s see.
Has refused to go into games at Memphis.
Has looked to leave over the last two offseasons. Penny basically forced him out this year. Imagine that? One of his high school guys. Penny had enough.
Gives full effort maybe 50% of the time that he is out there. And a reason KD blew up on his ass against FAU.
But, sure. Let’s bring him in.
One reason why i could see him not coming here.
He just graduated from Memphis.
Our 2 fanbases dont like each other. So, by choosing Houston for his 5th yr, maybe he would alienate some Memphis fans that did appreciate his Memphis tenure
Leaving a program, unless theres a coaching change, is basically like a divorce b/w that player & the fanbase
Michigan fans with Hunter Dickinson, 3 yrs at Michigan. But said their NIL wasnt good on the way out. How’s that fanbase feeling about him now. Or 4 yrs from now
Georgia’s projected roster
1.Jalen DeLoach (VCU transfer)
2.RJ Melendez (Illinois transfer)
3.Russel Tchewa (USF transfer)
4.Noah Thomasson (Niagara transfer)
5.RJ Sunahara (Division II transfer)
6.Justin Hill
7.Jabri Abdur-Rahim
8.Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe
9.Frank Anselem
10.Dylan James (4 star 2023 commit)
11.Blue Cain (4 star 2023 commit)
12.Silas Demary Jr (4 star 2023 commit)
13.Mari Jordan (4 star 2023 commit)

UGA using the Arkansas model and completely overhauling the roster. Going to be interesting if the players fit but they have some talent and experience.
penny didnt force him out… Dandridge wanted out … penny would take him as the backup center… memphis beat writers noted that it was that dandrige just wanted a fresh start…
penny jus last week wouldnt commit to saying dandrige was gone, because centers in the portal are hard to get, and they have none
“gives full effort”-- exact same things were said about carlton…honestly about half the recruits that come to houston…we have a culture im not worried about that…ive noted this about mills at fsu, he didnt do that at UH… different environment
yes becuase dandrige pushed KD, when Kd wouldnt leave him alone, i dont care about the inner squabbles of memphis players .
got the 3:13 mark on the video i posted and tell me sampson couldnt make use of that
your response is wild… again worse were said about carlton
again to be clear i want a more touted player… but i know we struggle to recruit bigs… if we are just whiffing left and right on ever big targets, id 100% take dandrige as the backup plan… the same way i felt about carlton who wasnt a sought after guy when we targeted him
that roster is strange a ton of power forwards… i guessing they plan to just play huge and use the pfs as wings
I couldn’t think of a more Anti CKS player than Dandridge.m
Dandridge would have been gone last year. If any high major program would have took the bait. They didn’t. He came back.
And UCONN was saying Carlton was just a bad player. Which is different than saying he doesn’t try. Dandridge flat out doesn’t care on the court half of the time.
And, P. I am with you on his talent. The dude is Uber talented. But his lack of effort. I wanted Dandridge bad last year. Started asking around. And, man. The answers weren’t great.
If CKS thinks he can mold him, fine. But it is a risk.
