I can’t see dandridge being 100% from 3 like Carlton was.
I’ve heard he’s not CKS material on here…
I agree with you… Get us those 2nd chance opportunities big dawg!
i’d take Kaluma. he would be the guy i would go after hard if i was the coaching staff.
so many forwards all of the sudden, which one do we get?
d. None of the above
We had connections to Dunn and Cryer. Unless we had any of these guys on campus before while they were in high school, my expectations are they’ll get lured elsewhere. (Dunn we faced many times in the AAC)
Kaluma would be a great fit here though. So, ignore my pessimism
I heard Phillips name a month ago. I would expect us to pursue. But I think we will go all out on Kaluma. Haven’t got any info on Kaluma yet. Just a guess on my part.
Can someone go on a visit before entering the portal?
No. Unless you’re begging to be hit with sanctions by the NCAA.
You can’t even talk to someone that is not in the portal. Not directly, at least.
Thanks. That’s what I thought. So Phillips hasn’t visited us.
I think Phillips could certainly stay in the draft. Similar to a Peyton Watson situation. Drafted late 1st round.
Kaluma, only played 2 seasons at Creighton. Already 21 yrs old.
According to Kaluma’s wiki, grew up in Irving, TX. Went to HS in Arizona for his final 2 yrs
So Arizona, maybe Iowa St (Coach Otz) might be destinations for Kaluma. Or he could take over Jaraces role at UH…
His Final 5 in HS: Creighton, Arizona, Washington, Syracuse, Western Kentucky
kalumas tie to houston would be in AAU… he payed for Houston Hoops, the Nike EYBL team
the same team that had lj, mark, and lofton …also Fatheree ( a player we were heavily on but he decided to stick to football) … we seem to have strong ties to players from that team.
Yep, you’re correct.
Mark #3 in the middle. Kaluma to his right. To the right of Kaluma, is LJ Cryer.
my take on all the options so far at the rumored stretch 4
my A options:
Grant Nelson- would love, would need to toughne up but him on better shooting percentages at 6’11 is likely a lottery pick… and though being a 4, i think he compliments jwan, we have tall 4 and short 5…
Julian Phillips- my favorite on potential, i think he takes a big jump as a freshmen to sophmore, and was decent as a freshmen (former 5star), has the most “guards skills” of the stretch 4 options… would love a few more pounds on him and to improve the shooting percentages (highest upside but not the best day1 option)
arthur kaluma: is the most plug and play to our system, with decent upside… he is already respectable as is, and can get so much better with improved shooting percentages (awkward shooting form)… with athleticism
kevin cross* (not in portal) - not my favorite because he lacks the upside potential of the 3 above (the 3 above are draft pocks with better shooting numbers, cross isnt) he is the most “he is who he is” of the options…but who he is is good enough for what we need … can shoot but that will be secondary, only pulls the trigger when when open…prefers to drive
none of the options are coming in as a proven shooter…but the 4 above you atleast have to defend them at the 3pt line
the b squad - (would take over doing nothing with the ship, but like A better)
Daimion Collins - long and super athletic, can shoot, not even a great ball handler …but has a mid range, and can blow by centers for drive
Alexis yetna- dominate rebounder for his size but injury prone and not a good shooter
im sure we’ll get a lot more possibilities over the next 2 days as players rush to get into the portal
You know who could shoot the rock off that team was Wolf Bush….that little PG was really good and could flat out shoot.
If he was 6 inches taller he would have been a top 100 guy.
Don’t know where he is now.
He isn’t more physical than Carlton
He most certainly could be a more physical version with an off season under bishop.
