Total Offense

Willie is a pretty smart guy. If we aren’t stretching the field it is because we either a) don’t have OL’s that can buy the QB time B) receivers who can get separation C) QB’s that can throw it accurately.

The truth is that it is all 3.

Does anyone know what the issue with Parker Jenkins not getting any touches the last 2 games and so few in prior games? Season stats on our website show 17 rushing attempts for 34 yards. Wasn’t he close to being the BIG XII freshman offensive player of year in 2023?

Kennesaw State had a big game to work themselves out of last place.

FSU and UH fighting it out for last place. Just like 2015. Oh snap!

Style of offense changed and he didn’t adapt. Reading the hole is more important than accelerating. Burnette got the start. Sneed was second and then Sanford. PJ is obviously behind those three and based on play, rightfully so.

He was also inactive vs Utah because he welcomed a child.

I’m trying to find an app that puts our games in black&white and transposes leather helmets as our offense’s head gear. It’s fitting to the offense we run. If we could get the video in 2x speed with a guy wearing a straw top hat calling the plays with a megaphone, that would be an added bonus.

What Due said and I’ve also heard he doesn’t pick up blitzes particularly well…well, I’ve actually not just heard that, I’ve seen it too.

Pretty surprising how many people on here find dead last acceptable - it is not. Last I heard - OC and the HC are not taking reduced salaries in the first year … dead last in total offense in all of football - has something to do w/ coaching and play-calling [pretty funny some try to put 100% of that on “Dana”]. It is - and should be - cause for concern. I hope it gets better.

The guy literally had a month and a half to get his team together.

And he told us all in that month and half and ever since that discipline, penalties, and turnovers would be staples of the program. Hey, if you’re good with where we’re at in regards to those things after they were driven home, what can I say? Some of us are not.

Just think: The Coogs led the nation in total offense in 1966, 1967 and 1968.

Not getting instant gratification? So sorry. We brought in a guy who has a track record of rebuilding everywhere he has been. The Dana is starting to wash off this team. I can see the switch in culture, look at more than stats and you might see it too

And I hope that he turns it around. I’ll be there in the stands home and away regardless as I have been for decades. It’s ok though to think critically, be critical about somethings and positive about others, and not have to pump sunshine about everything pretending that we don’t have some tremendous flaws. Not everything has to be an excuse or excused. Hold on to your Dana rhetoric all you want. It’ll have a good shelf life here I’m sure. CWF makes millions of dollars per year. I’m sure that he can handle some criticism about things that he keyed in on as part of what would change, but have actually gotten a lot worse so far. I look at more than stats, but at the end of the day turnovers and penalties play a vital role in who comes out on the right side of the wins / losses stat, and that’s what these coaches get paid to do.

Rhetoric? Get back to me when we look anywhere near as undisciplined as DH had us. Remember we were in National news because our players fought on the sideline. And you want to compare Dana’s last year to Willie’s first? Not fair.
Be critical all you want but don’t be surprised I’m not buying it

Lol this could be Iowa’s credo

Yes, CDH had that incident. And under CMA we had the sideline jacket incident between him and Ed Oliver. In 2016, after the loss at SMU we had a player throw a tirade and tantrum in the end zone and had to be restrained by the staff. Go back to the Hawaii Bowl in Hawaii under CAB where we got into a helmet swinging brawl with the Rainbows after the overtime loss on ESPN. Football is an emotionally charged game. There are going to be things like that which occur over the long course of time with almost every team, and every staff. It sucks when they don’t show UH in a glowing light no matter who the coach is.

You don’t have to buy anything. Statistically it’s right there as far as discipline between the lines that we can control, and we’re not good at it yet. Like I said earlier, let’s see where we’re at at the end of the season.

Coach said there improvement in these area’s then there’s improvement in these area’s If anyone should know should be him, since he’s the HC and establishing that culture he wants. Besides I see it in the games there incremental improvement and the players said he’s establishig his culture and they the players are buying in as believers in his system of coaching… results are starting to show up in the W column.

Over the last three games we have been one of the least penalized teams in the country. That is progress.
