No, it was a non reviewable call, meaning they stick with the call that they made.
$250k would’ve been a small price to pay if they’d pulled out a win.
All you needed to know about Texas was displayed in that sequence of events. That is Texas. And that is what people like…sad.
Us SWC and B12 fans tried to warn ya, SEC. We warned ya that Texas thinks their God’s gift to college sports, and strange things seem to happen when Texas plays in Austin, not coincidentally, always in favor of Texas. SEC, you said that ain’t happening in the SEC, SEC has programs more successful than Texas.
It took Texas less that one season to pull their shenanigans that all of us SWC and B12 fans are used to. Good luck managing Texas. The have been, and always will be, high maintenance. They are out for themselves, and be dammed the conference.
The sec (a wholly owned subsidiary of UT Inc) should have been fined and the student section should be prohibited for the rest of the year. In addition, that section of the stadium should remain empty and no tickets allowed to be sold.
It wasn’t reviewed.
Exactly. They just decided later on to change it, after the decision had been made.
Which happens often. It’s not uncommon.
No. In that specific play, after making that decision, they can’t go back and change that.it has to stand. That’s what was unusual about that.
What happened in the UT game literally never happens. Even the UT announcers on the radio couldn’t believe it. Their only rationalization was “hey, it was the right call.”
Surprised they didnt let Georgia run a play, and then reverse it
What’s unusual about it is that they discussed it, announced the penalty, gave the ready for play signal, and let UGA line up over the ball before they changed the call. I’ve seen refs pick up flags. I’ve rarely but occasionally seen a ref announce a penalty and then change their mind. I’ve never in my life seen the refs announce the penalty, move the chains, and let the offense set up for the next play before they picked up the flag. As far as I’m aware, that’s never happened before.
I saw at least one shot where one of the refs was watching the replay on the big screen.
Which is, by the way, explicitly forbidden by the rules.
Glad to hear it still hurts them when they think of UH.
Why would the SEC restrict alcohol sales for a bunch of kids throwing WATER bottles on the field???
This isn’t real.
So that ut would actually enforce this and not just sweep it under the rug.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. But the McMurphy tweet seems legit.
