Hey y’all, today is officially our first Big 12 conference game. Women’s soccer is taking on the sand aggies in Lubbock.

Why does everyone think we would’ve just hired Prime? We weren’t in the market for a coach at the time. You don’t just hire people bc they’re available. The right situation/circumstances have to be in place

The rumor is that we reached out to Traylor to gauge his interest and were willing to fire CDH for Traylor but he turned us down…

You can find the quote from Traylor but he was obviously talking about us so YES! we were looking to ditch Dana last season.

So landing Prime was a possibility if our leaders has a an ounce of vision.

If we reached out to Traylor then how do you know we didn’t reach out to prime and he also turned us down?

I don’t…but I highly doubt if UH wanted Prime why we wouldn’t be the spot over Colorado.

Prime wants in Texas…he wanted in the Big 12

Because you have to be in Texas in order to recruit Texas? Since when?

And you must think Tillman is an idiot you’re implying he wouldn’t have sent out feelers about Prime. And obviously Prime didn’t give enough indication to make Tillman comfortable with burning $21 million.

But please continue to complain on EVERY thread about Prime 100% coming to Houston without evidence.

on hiring coaches…yes, Tilman is an idiot

I’ve watched him personally hire dumpster fires with both the Cougars (Applewhite, Holgorsen) and Rockets (Sillas) and give out stupid extensions.

His rationale following Herman’s departure was incredibly emotional, childish, and stupid.

Kiffin was the obvious pick but he ran him off at the last minute. Yes…he would have left after 3 years but he would have maintained the momentum. Instead Applewhite sucked the life out of the program and we are still trying to get it back.

Tillman had no direct hand in hiring Applewhite, that was Khator and Yuracheck pushing for that, they didn’t like the type of character Kiffin was. Tillman just went along with them in hiring Applewhite.

While Dana was Tillman taking the reigns and choosing the coach no one thought Dana would be a dumpster fire so don’t try to revise history. There was alot more praise for that hire at the time then you would like. And the logic for the extension was sound you always extend your coaches when they have two years left for recruiting reasons. And it helped we finally had a season where it looked like things were progressing. It was definitely a bad move now looking back but hindsight is 20/20.

But please continue to spew nonsense you know nothing about to someone who actually has inside sources who actually communicate with Tillman.

NO NO NO

It was 100% Tilman… I followed that situation very closely.

He drew up the type of contract he wanted and narrowed down the type of coach that would accept.

He gave multiple interviews about hoe butt hurt he was about what Herman had done.

Looks like you need to do your research…I heard his radio interviews with my own ears.

Well you’re wrong sorry… I know things that don’t get leaked to the public. But please continue to make up stuff so you can justify hating the the man who has dine more for our university than anyone else besides Khator in the last 30 years. It really makes you look intelligent.

no… I remember Tilman’s passionate radio interviews literally discussing the type of contract he wanted for the next coach.

Coaching selections are 100% on Tilman once Mack Rhodes left

Of course… is he supposed to talk negatively about it? Is he suppose to say “the president and Athletic director wanted this, but they’re idiots so screw them.”

Tillman was definitely the main man behind Dana but he was NOT the main one behind Applewhite. It’s the same reason Herman will NEVER be welcome back to this school. Khator felt immensely betrayed by Herman, and didn’t want that to happen again so she hired applewhite. The contract is for applewhite was Tillmans recommendation to Khator however.

How often do you hear people of Seafood Boy’s stature actively calling into radio shows to aggressively defend decisions that they didn’t make and didn’t support?

Is this a one to one thing? Because this is a pretty terrible argument. Unless you’re saying there is a certain threshold that has to be met for it to he acceptable, in which case what is that threshold? Or is your argument it never happens? In which case I would say look at 90% of professional sports teams and their billionaire owners, or the University of Texas.

And I never said he didn’t support the decision, I said he wasn’t the main one who made the decision. I did say he had a hand in deciding what the contract should have been for Applewhite.

How often do people with any sort of real influence at UT/A&M or with pro sports teams call into radio shows at all? Let’s start there. I’ve heard shows interview owners; I have not heard owners go out of their way to call in to shows.

Nobody demanded that he called in. He publicly and vociferously went out of his way to go into detail about the fact that he specifically wanted Applewhite for his connection to High School coaches and he personally wanted a buyout that would make sure he wasn’t able to leave and that he personally didn’t trust other candidates (presumably Kiffin and Riley) to stay.

This is an unanswerable question as it would require having knowledge of every radio interview that’s ever occurred. Once again if it’s happened even once does that then meet your arbitrary threshold and justify it? Or is your point you don’t actually care if others have done it and you’re going to blame Tillman no matter what?

My only thing is he is going to defend others decisions, and that was his way of trying to continue the hype that Herman created. That was the whole reason with going with the continuity hire, because Khator and Yurachek believed it would allow the H-Town takeover hype to continue. Tillman is a well known man so he more than likely decided to take the initiative and try to build hype for Applewhite. But you’re right he shouldn’t have tried to build the program at all and just done nothing… oh wait y’all complain about how he does that now, so I guess there is no winning for him.

Could have been TT just as easily as us , nothing in that statement says Houston, if he turned us down then I’m glad we beat his butt twice

Tech is, by all accounts, very happy with McGuire.
