Coach put Duarte in his place - finally, dude struggles more with asking questions than any reporter I’ve ever known

Please use a font size and color (black) that us old folks can see and read . . . . .

I’m older too. There is a + on my screen that makes the letters look larger.

Love me some CKS. Look at his eyes. This sums up the leader he is.

Fran Fraschilla, who was doing color on the game, explained pretty well why he got T’d up. I agreed with his assesment. Big XII basketball us getting more physical.

For years the B1G was considered one of the toughest conferences because of their physical play. But come tournament time, non-calls in B1G play are fouls. Some of the non-calls are dangerous. Again last night, one of our big men was undercut on a rebound and no call. Then downcourt, a forearm push to clear space, for at least the second time. No call. That’s when he exploded.

Hopefully, he got the BIG XII’s attention.

His reaction was warranted. You watch the play multiple times and it is outrageous especially on a parquet floor. It is not like the referee was 60 yards away from the play.
Next time should our player take a dive?

37 to 14 FTs.

Kelvin was more pissed about the no-call on Ja’Vier on the offensive end than the no-call on Shead on the defensive end.

And I love that we got in a conference game where none of our starters played 30 minutes. Much needed rest game.

This is now 2 home games this year where a team scored 24 points from the free throw line and barely covered the spread. Coincidence or not, that’s just stupid. Ok St shot 22 free throws in the 2nd half. These stupid refs are making college basketball completely unwatchable. I’ll watch my Coogs on a blacktop in the middle of a hurricane, but the average fan will turn these foul fests off and watch reruns of The Office. Whoever has the power to reign these refs in needs to get on it.

Nope, never watched The Office in my life . I will be watching replay of the game later today.

CKS trying to get a little work in for Kellen before he retires.

I think Big 12 officiating is actually worse than AAC officiating.
Also, worst post game press conference I’ve seen

I agree. I think it was fair game for the reporters to ask CKS’s thoughts on what happened. He could have easily said there were some things happening on the floor for a lot of the game that I didn’t agree with and I let the refs know. Not sure how that would have been subject to a $25k fine and the fact that he ran all the way to the other end of the floor to scream at the refs wouldn’t be. But oh well.

Jesse, you’re really missing out. It’s in my Top 3 favorite TV series of all time.

Everything that CKS does is for a reason. Was it to fire up his team? Probably not, since UH winning by about 20 points. Was it to get the league’s attention on aggressive play and officiating? You betcha. And the discrepancy in fouls called in that game was ridiculous.

CKS was making a statement to the league just as much as the push off on Shead in the lane.

All good @2002Coog. I’m sure it is/was very good. Just never got into the sitcoms etc. . Watched few here n there at earlier age, but say like last 20+ yrs… Nope. Another good ex is never ever watched episode of Love Boat or Seinfeld but i digress.
Hence I watch a lot, lot of Sports, more Sports. Currently lots of CBB every night, not picky on which Teams. Coogs first, then everyone else gets in line.:smile:

Totally trying to bait Sampson into ripping the refs.
Loved his response “How much of the $25000 fine are you going to pay?.”
These reporters are really hard to listen to. Journalism is a dying profession

Come on Butch! Someone had to ask the question for the media. JD took one for the team( media) n he knew response wouldn’t be ideal.
If he didn’t ask, Someone else would or should have… Why not ask, was big event during game that social media was all over.

CKS could have responded in different way such as :
" I know you have to ask that question or you’re not doing your job but I’m not going to speak on it ,so i don’t get fined ".
He took a more direct way to respond, which is his prerogative. But the question needed to be asked n Was .

Sure he shoved Shead in the back, but you have him fronting their biggest player, probably not going to get a call. When you look at easy win, Sampson makes a statement with walking on the court, says to Kellen before he walks on the court, “You got this”.
