OFFICIAL: Willie Fritz named UH Football Head Coach

Locked on Big 12 gave our hire of Fritz a grade of “A+++” or something to that effect.

Listen. Says the whole Big 12 should be SCARED.

There’s no sport for which you are correct

DieHard, you were pushing for CWF very early. Take a victory lap!

I’m super exited about Fritz’s hire. What’s even more exiting is that 99% of Coogfan posters agree. There’s been too much division in recent months on this site. Hopefully we can all come together, support the coach, and support the team. I truly believe that Dr Khator, Tilman, and Pez care a great deal about UH and are trying their best to make our school top tier in every way. It’s an uphill battle for UH and always has been, but if we all come together great things can happen. Remember HOUSTON vs EVERYONE !!

I’m thrilled with WF and love his attitude.

I wish we would have gotten him sooner. His age in terms of performance doesn’t bother me. He has proven he can deliver. I would have wanted him coaching UH for decades.

I agree, for starters let’s all renew our season tickets and be at TDECU supporting our team. It feels like better days are ahead of us. Go Coogs!!!

Fritz wins and wins but you wanted baby Briles?

Fritz must be pretty spot-on if all people can snivel about is his maturity.

DH got lucky ineriting King as well and you saw how that went.

Two of those games were against power 5 schools, one of which made the CFP led by Jalen Hurts.

That Tulane game was a defensive mess that we should’ve won. That wasn’t all on King.

With respect, “somewhat proven” is an understatement. Fritz has had more success in his arena than CDH, Applesauce, Herman and Levine combined. Juz sayin

If you lower the bar people will meet it.

“Houston needs a coach that can succeed fighting a tough battle”.

Yes, that’s true. I guess what I was trying to get at was that the only thing he hasn’t yet proved is success at the P5 level. Bc he hasn’t coached at P5. But he’s had an upward trajectory his whole career it seems, and he’s hungry to prove that he can do it at the next level. I’m pretty confident in the Fritz.

Me too

What do you mean “US” old people YOUNG lady? You have a ways to go to gain that descriptor.

Matt, many of the young players really would welcome a father figure in their lives. Not everyone comes from a stable environment and a father figure gives them a sense of stability. I think CWF will do well with recruiting.
