Moms alot of times have great say in the decision. That is how Bill McCartney was able to build a powerhouse at colorado by appealing to the mother of the player.
Makes Kliff Kingsburyâs recruiting woes all the more confusing. He was certainly appealing to playersâ moms.

I get it Mike. My preference was for a younger coach, but the decision was not mine to make, i was just expressing an opinion on a fan board. Willie is the coach now and I wish him well. As for your point about a father figure, my Dad was 45 when I was 18, so 27 years difference between us. Willie is 63, which is 45 years older than the 18 year old freshmen he is chasing. Hopefully it is a non-issue and he wins many championships.
And Saban is 72.
Had we hired Fritz 5 years ago, he would have been 58, it would not be an issue. If we win and he is at the helm with solid coaches and recruiters, who cares?
I donât think Saban makes many house calls. But needs to be engaged and informed when the recruit and his family comes to town.

Haha, yeah it is apparently frowned upon sometimes here. I was called an âAggyâ by a moderator and a âmoronâ by another poster. Iâve never crossed swords with anyone on Coogfans before this week. Oh well, Iâve moved on from it. We have a basketball game in a few hours. 
I thought getting rid of the Politics Forum would improve the decorum.

I think the most important next step is to secure the right staff.
Imperative to our success.
Need recruiter, player development, relationship builders and play callers.
Hopefully with age and wisdom he has built the right relationships over the years and can hire the guys we desperately need.

If CWF is successful in his first contract, 5 years, he will be 68 for renewal, a good shot we keep him at that point if he is winning B12.
Fritz isnât much older than what Sampson was when we hired him and that hire turned out just fine. Fritz will breathe life back into the program. Weâre lucky to have him.

Fritz seems to be family focused. Those guys usually age slower than the last 3 out of 5 coaches we had who were alchoholics.
