New Texans Uniforms

What’s irritating is that Nashville has had the Columbia blue set for 25 years at this point so they have a generation of fans that only know that color. Same goes for Houston where no fan under age 30 (or probably 35) knows anything else but Texans battle red.

It’s been too long. The two franchises will never partner for a trade

To me the Texans uniforms are part Houston Cougar and part Rice Owl. One day they are the Coogs the next day they are the Owls.

With a dab of Houston Oilers.

They look like a non spring water bottle. There is no uniqueness about them. They now look like a uniform that you would expect in the Spring UFL.
adams family sell the Columbia blue.

Interesting article below how the Houston Texans worked a compromise with the NFL in using “H-Town Blue”. I have not seen in any public reports what the percentage of “H-Town Blue” is allowed to be used in the Houston Texans uniform. I give the McNair’s credit for listening to the fans and pushing the issue with the NFL and Tennessee Titans.

Such BS…its a color!

They look nothing like the old Oiler uniforms

Color alone CAN be an enforceable trademark according to the USSC.

Ridiculous

UNANIMOUS decision.

It happens.

Like the red soles on Louboutin women’s shoes.

The following is the Pentone’s columbia blue:

The wide array of columbia colors does not help. What would help is knowing the details of toupee adams columbia blue rights. That I would like to know.

Mabe im missing the connection to the Columbia Blue + White + Red Trim.

If anything they are copying the new current Titan’s colors…not the Oilers

The Oilers had red and white trim as well.

You think the new H-Town blue uniforms resembles the 90s Oliers in any way?

Not really on these new ones, but I can imagine a court finding any use of largely Columbia blue unis with red and white trim to be so. Remember, a mark doesn’t have to be identical in order for it to infringe. Only “substantially similar.” If a mark is similar enough to create a risk of contusion in the marketplace, then that may be enough to make the infringer liable.

That’s why an agreement with permission for the use for that color was needed here, and that’s why the Titans only allowed it in this limited application.

What color blue does the LA Chargers wear? Looks very much like “Columbia blue.” I guess that’s not a problem ….

Shouldn’t the Atlanta Falcons or even the New England Patriots be more worried about our uniform and logo.

I mean, we basically copied the Patriot’s logo exactly

Toupee adams told the nfl to “hands off” columbia blue and the Oilers name/logo. The nfl obliged instead of telling toupee adams to f… off. This is why we are here arguing about this. The spanos family did the same thing to San Diego. The basic point here is that the nfl could care less about the fans. Keep in mind friends that the same fans pay for “toupee” adams and spanos’s stadiums. Furthermore if “toupee” adams really cared about the Oilers he would have kept the…OILERS name. He did not. Why do you think that is? His franchise is called the titans. That speaks volume about “toupee” adams ego. I never heard of titans in Tennessee. Are they titans in Tennessee?

What did you expect them to do? What organization has done a drastic change? Theres a visual difference in tones, colors and design.

Serious Question:
Is there a year limit on how long a company/entity can own a copyright on a logo/character?

Think of Mickey Mouse. Disney just lost it’s rights to their most popular character, after 95 years.

If it is the same rule for “sports logos”, the Adam’s rights to the Oilers logo and color scheme should expire in 2055.

Now, a gentlemen’s agreement among NFL owners might be a different issue
