They had no choice or say in the matter the big 12 controlled that
So some of yâall want a 3/4 empty stadium instead of 1/2 empty. Lines up with the logic of coog fans.
We canât keep 40k fans out of the Houston sun and heavy rain. Yaâll wanna make it 60k. Also when we have a full waiting list on general admission tickets for 3-5 years. Thatâs the time to cash in. Creating 20k seats so LSU,A&M, texas and Tech alum can sworm to TDECU and turn it into a home field DISADVANTAGE is hilarious.
1998 called and asked for their standards back.
As Don Barzini would say, of course we can charge a fee for our services and facilities.
Itâs obvious that the administration is the one to blame. If the customers are giving their feedback, in this case since the early 1970âs, then the sales force isnât doing its job.
âMay as well try and catch the wind.â
- Donovan Smith
No talks of stadium expansion until we have consecutive 5+ years of sellouts and a 5+ year waiting list for season tickets.
2 years sellout, with 1 year of waiting list. Leave it or take it.
I think 5+ consecutive years is a better gauge
Will never happen
Weâve had attendance problems since the 70s. So letâs not blame this generations diverse make up for our current woes. Since we already had posters do that.
You paying for it?
Did you get CFW memo? We are on a budget.
We got an amazing deal on our stadium. Even back then it should have been at 50% more than what we paid.
Hopefully some day we will expand. Is it true that our stadium canât accommodate soccer games? I will have to review the plans. The one concern would be the corner kicks areas, width and length.
Lets just do what the athletic department did with Robertson and make up the capacity, we can just say TDECU seats 48,000. That should satisfy some of you âwe need more capacityâ crowd without physically installing the empty seats.
Fortunately, our current stadium already has the infrastructure ready for expansion and it can be done in stages â whenever it is deemed necessary. The column bases are already in place.
Yes,one of the smartest things our previous admin ever did. Normally, you would have to tear down a bunch of stuff to get to the foundation sites and then build back up. That would add a lot to the work and take longer. The fact that the expansion foundation pads are in place would indicate the design is virtually complete which saves time as well .
Go Coogs !
You can build it but will they come? Rice has half their stadium tarped. You want to spend money on expansion and then tarp it? Or hope that one day LSU comes? Not a wise investment. Recent recruitment shows we can get where we want be without LSU and without expansion. Letâs enjoy the new look Cougars with a Heisman candidate in our current stadium with new endzone and party deck
Rice student body is like 5k ? In any case, would you people prefer a 15k seat stadium because we could fill it? Thatâs the ridiculous logic weâre talking about here. The answer is to grow the fan base not shrink the stadium. The UH student body alone could fill the tiny stadium we have. Stop being soft and weak and content with mediocrity. Do you want a respectable program or not? Because tiny stadiums and complacent fan bases are not going to get us there.
I agree. Consecutive sellouts and a ticket waiting list is unrealistic. A more realistic trigger could be a couple of games in a season that sellout, but could have sold another 10K tickets. If this happens then the administration might see an opportunity cost.
