Mississippi State played at Robertson in 2010
Vanderbilt played at TDECU in 2015
Pez complained that the stadium design was bad because it didn’t accommodate soccer. He said that you have a 20k & 70k soccer fields in Houston and TDECU should have been designed to be a 40k soccer stadium but we didn’t do it

Yup. I know. I mentioned it in my previous post.
UH hosts a Texas Bowl team literally every year. I believe that Rice does too. It’s in cooperation with the Texas Bowl, not the teams. I’m sure the Texas Bowl rents it out from UH.

We are only 40% f empty. We need to get it to 60% empty. We have the smallest stadium bcoz we have the smallest fan base. Cincy might have a smaller stadium but it is packed. We have rarely come close to that atmosphere.

Dude, no college stadium or basketball arena has increased the number of seats in recent years. They are decreasing them when they get a chance with renovations.
UH, two years removed from being a G5, is not going to get a dramatic increase in attendance just because it’s a P4.
You can dislike sub 40K all you want, but get use to it or root for UT/A&M and write on their fan sites how you love their attendance.
This is life right now at UH and being a 4 win season for 2 years straight, will definitely not put butts in seats.

So, you think UH should put more than 40k butts in seats as a 4 win team for 2 years straight, when it hasn’t filled 40K seats when it was a winning team?
In Houston, the Texans, Rockets, Astros and Coogs, are not going to fill their stadiums if they are not winning.
It’s just life in a big metropolitan with lots of other things to do.

Unfortunately, that’s the culture of this fanbase. Apathy. “Going to games doesn’t matter.” “Being a commuter school is fine” “I root for UH and UT” etc. The mindset of our fans has been the same for a long time and I’m not sure that it will change.
What does tu or Aggy have anything to do with this?
We have an alumni base of a little over 330k. We have 48k undergraduates. We probably have at least 100k alumni living in Houston and the greater Houston area. We need to do our part and fill up TDECU. We are the only school in the B12 that fails to fill up its stadium. Even UC and UCF have better attendance than us.

I like the TDECU capacity as it is for now, because it is like our intimate FC for basketball. Texas Played us in the Cage …did they not ?
