Is Elon Musk losing his mind?

Seriously, is he the closest thing to Howard Hughes in our lifetimes or is he just one of the loudest crybabies in the world right now?

Yes, of course he is. Spreading misinformation? Check.

And nothing like suing your customers for not being your customers anymore. He’s a cuckoo bird.

Yeah, he’s lost it.

Didn’t several oil companies sue ‘activist investors’ for something similar? Except it was to tank stock or something. If it can be proven that a collection of companies conspired to cause a financial loss to x/Twitter, isn’t that actionable under anti-trust? I’m no lawyer but his must think they have a case

No.

No clue how you could prove that. This seems like a bunch of nonsense to me. Maybe they left because he told them to eff off. He dared them to leave.

Yea, I just don’t know about this one. Seems like if they deposed some advertisers and asked if they would have paused their ad spending even if the safety group didn’t suggest it, they would say yes. Not to mention there’s a laundry list of actions taken by Musk that could justify any pause on ads.

Of course, no one is required to advertise on X either. I’m no lawyer but I just don’t know what this would be winnable on. Even if you win or cause a settlement, that isn’t going to necessarily bring advertisers back.

Musk is doing Vrbo in you guys’ heads.

I’ll always love he gave us VTOL rockets. Serious Buzz Lightyear/1950s SciFi stuff. Now he’s just thrashing around and flailing his arms. IDK if he’s bored or high.

He’s cemented his place in the history of business. His money insulates him from harsh treatment even when he’s being a jerk. Too bad, as he has and can continue to make a real difference in the world.

Yes they did.

They sued. Not for reason you stated.

Yes they claimed it was damaging to their stock value. You have to prove damages to win a lawsuit.

Elon is claiming that several large companies conspired to devalue x/Twitter in some sort of anti-trust manner.

That’s not at all what you said. And it’s also not why they sued.

If you’re a NY Times subscriber, maybe you can point to where the article you linked to says what you originally said (ie like what Musk is doing, suing over collusion to hurt a company).

A recap: In January, Exxon sued two activist investor groups, Arjuna Capital and Follow This, in a Texas court, saying that their resolution to include so-called Scope 3 emissions targets reflected “an extreme agenda” that was detrimental to shareholders.

The groups withdrew their resolution, fearing that an Exxon legal win could essentially silence all activists and shareholder debates. Last week, a Texas judge ruled that Exxon’s lawsuit could proceed against Arjuna, which is based in Massachusetts, but said that the court had no jurisdiction over Follow This, which is based in Amsterdam. Exxon is still suing.

I picture Musk using the phrase you guys’.

That’s not at all what Musk is suing for.

That is certainly different from Musk’s lawsuit. X is not a publicly held company and advertisers aren’t “activist investors” that can propose actions by X’s board.
