This game 1 is super important. Given the pitching mismatch, the Astros have a clear advantage. Unfortunately, this year when the Astros had a clear advantage they squandered it.

The only reason I can think of to have the home dugout be on the 3rd base side is that the sun shines into the 1st base dugout.

The wiki article said the reason some teams have 3B for home dugout is back in the day the managers were the also the 3rd base coaches, which made the walk shorter.

Agreed. It was cool seeing how fired up the fans were at Target Field this week. Our fans were just like that when we started our run. We’re a little more subdued now. I remember the pundits in 2017 saying MMP was the loudest stadium they’ve ever been in.

Exactly. Our home record is skewed by losses to teams like the A’s and Royals. We won’t have to face those teams in the playoffs. :+1:

There is a clip somewhere in which Bregman was asked about playing at home during the playoffs
.I honestly don’t even remember who asked ( maybe Julia?)

Anyway, the response was something along the lines of “it’s the playoffs now” or “ but that wasn’t the playoffs “ referring to the under .500 record.

It’s not an issue.
