I think I would rather play the Orioles. They have significantly less postseason experience and I think that could favor us in a potential ALCS stage. The Rangers are just mad at us and could play the revenge angle. That matchup would be epic though, with both fan bases in each other’s stadium.

The Stros bring out the colors in Arlington. Damn. Reminds me of when the Cubs would play at the dome. Their fans came out.
I would rather have the young Orioles on the big stage but the Rangers v Astros with all of the various hate angles…that would be must see tv.

Framber’s fastball velo is up from 94 last year to 95.3 this season. That extra oomph he’s put on his heater has caused his fastball to flatten out and ride more middle of the plate. That is why the hard hit % is way up this season and his GB/FB rate has taken a nose dive.
Usually FV’s fastballs had a more downward motion that made it hard to get lift on the ball. Framber’s never been a top of the zone guy. Now that his fastball is touching 96 this season, he should be elevating it to chest high. That’s what makes JV so effective with his heater was his ability to work it up the zone.
I don’t think there is a wrong decision for G1. I’d prefer FV for the sake of a G5 if it were to play out that way.

I’m high on Philly with Nola and Wheeler as their 1-2. I think they’re in best position to beat LA and ATL now that Trey Turner is playing out of his mind since mid-August.
