Not sure how long it is going to take Belk to have one or two good years because last year our defense was awful and he isnât off to a great start this year.
Herman had the luxury of being at Ohio State on a national championship team loaded with great, great athletes. He came here and then died at Texas, which had athletes comparable to Alabama.and Ohio State.
Texas is proving this year that a good head coach makes a huge differenceâŠ

Rice will now probably be a bowl team. We should have beaten them but they are scrappy and well coached and play hard. Daniels is a good quarterback and when given time can pick you apart like he did the Coogs tonight.
I was in the end zone. I saw the PI call and it didnât look to me like he pushed him. I thought that was a bad call that bailed them out. On the other hand, how was that missed two point conversion not called a PI? That looked pretty blatant to me. Either way, it shouldnât have even come down to that. Iâm just so disappointed in where this program is. I just want to watch winning cougar football again.
P.S.- I spoke with Ryan Jackson today and said to him that I thought Rice was due for a win, since they seem to win one or two every decade and we had won seven in a row, and sure enough it happened.

Oh, and Miami warned us about DâNofrio and I didnât listen. WVU fans warned us about Danaâs play-calling and I didnât listen. When Pez decides to hire the Grad Assistant at Northern Iowa as our next head coach I can assure you Iâm gonna scour that schoolâs message board and make my decision that moment.

Chizik - National champion as DC. 8 years as DC at FBS level before getting HC job
Muschamp - National champion as DC. 8 years DC at LSU, Auburn, UT
Dillingham - 5 years OC at Memphis, FSU, and Oregon. Probably least qualified on your list
Herman - National champion as OC. 10 years at OC and took HC job at G5 school
Morris - 5 years OC including 4 at Clemson. Tok HC job at G5 schol
I didnât even look at all of their other qualifications most with more experience at high level non-coordinator positions which Belk does not have
Doug Belkâs resume doesnât compare. 4 year DC at G5 school. Probably could have taken a lower G5 HC job after 2021 though
Why is everything with Belk either feast or famine? Thatâs not good coaching. At this point in his career here his defense should have a brand. Turnovers, INTâs, stops the run, etc.
