I’m skeptical, but even hypothetically…
Better not add them for all sports!!!

No to UCONN…not even if they agree to a SMU type deal.
They were HORRIBLE AAC Conference mates
We have ACC options coming available.
Two things:
What made them horrible conference mates?
There’s no way in hell Big Ten adds Virginia before adding UNC.
He and I agree on a lot of things related to housing mandates, becoming a more traditional, residential U., and getting more “high ROI” students.
On conference realignment, we have generally disagreed, but on this one, we may be in accord.
UConn’s football brand is too weak to consider, in my view, and I am not sold on having basketball only members like UConn and Gonzaga.
UNC has a say. …they are the one being courted
If the SEC wants to offer UNC a package deal, with Duke, and keep the highest viewed basketball rivalry IN CONFERENCE , that might be valuable to UNC
UConn needs the Big 12 more than the Big 12 needs UConn. It would make absolutely zero sense to add them when their are potential adds with ACC schools…
I also am adamantly against basketball only adds…why?
Because football drives the bus…
But in our case it’s great to be nationally ranked in something big like men’s hoops
Basketball has a lot more OOC games than football. UNC probably does not need to be in the same conference with Duke to play every year. Not sure the “in conference” is as important with basketball as it likely would not keep either team from the tournament with a loss as it could in football…
SEC is not taking Duke no matter what you say.
I stop listening to Locked on Big 12 when Drake took over. He’s nothing but click bait, that’s why he has the word, Expansion in the title of all his videos.
He’s no better than MHver3 or Swaim with their expansion conspiracy theories. CLICK-BAIT for short.
the only way basketball-only adds would work is if the media deal splits football and basketball into separate deals, but this can’t really be done until 2030.
That being said, I’m also against basketball only. Right now, the Big 12 needs to focus on growing its value with the teams it has as well as waiting to see what happens with FSU/Clemson. As far as I’m aware, unless FSU pulls off an AAU invitation, I don’t see them getting a spot in either the SEC or Big Ten.
Did you not see the table I posted?
Duke averaged 1.3 million viewers, per game, last season in football.
You don;t think that would be in the 2.5 million range if they are playing Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Alabama, LSU. etc. on a regular basis?
After listening to locked on Coogs, there may be another side to this.
Here’s the theory: Yormark knows that UConn won’t stay in the Big East, and that when they leave, their most likely destination would presumably be the ACC….
UNLESS we strike first and take them, putting the ACC in an ever less advantageous position.
That’s what I’ve been saying …IF the ACC only loses 2-4 schools, they easily backfill with UConn plus 1 to 3 others and they move on just like the Big 12 did.
Except that there isn’t a good football brand out there to rebuild with.
Only suck brands.
Apples to oranges.
This is clickbait. A UConn podcaster heard from some donor or something that a move was imminent. No one else is reporting this. He also said something along the lines of “we’ll be watching Big12 media days” which tells me this is old and he’s just now posting it.
