Why didn’t Fritz just bring him along last year instead of hiring Barbay?

Nagle is a decent OC. We could have won the conference.

Because Slade wanted to get a demotion to be a TEs coach. Duh.

Everyone knows that the best way to get a promotion is via demotion

CWF 0-1 with this hire. Hopefully he doesn’t end up 0-2 with DC hire

Explain. I saw this as a win.

I think it’s more likely Slade thought he could do better than what he got.

He decided not to come here mid December and went to LSU at end of January.

Nagle’s offense can actually score points.

He’s not elite by any means but he’s Mike Leach, Don Shula and Bill Walsh (RIP to all 3 legendary offensive minds) compared to Barbay.

When Tulane was happy Fritz was taking this guy tells u all u need to know. Expect the same offense as this year.

I honestly do not recall them being happy about Slade’s departure, but we shall see.

Many on this board are better than Barbay

I think I’m starting to agree with you. He probably thought he could get the Tulane job after being named the interim HC.

this is such a mediocre hire but Fritz is very comfortable with him so let’s see how next year is. I would been a little happier with Will Hall but even Hall would of been mediocre to me as well

That’s possible. Maybe thought he could kill at interim (which he was).

By the way. I like the hire.

Just pissed that Willie wasted a year with Barbay to end back up with Slade. Lol

I wish Slade would have come here originally.

I never liked the Barbay hire.

I had never even heard of Barbay.

His family is famous in the Golden Triangle where I’m from.

His uncle was a legendary high school football coach at 2A powerhouse Newton. Barbay Field is named after him.

His cousin is an excellent high school football head coach in his own right.

I originally assumed due to his last name, he would be good too.
