I agree, we’re not a cult! Although some posters here want us to be.
If you watch closely in an SEC or B12 game you’ll occasionally see opposing fans mixed with students. I don’t know their sections but I know I see them from time to time. Grad students can have a stockpile of t-shirts from their former schools, too. When I attended USC for two semesters I wore the Hell outa UH gear. The only comments I got were from Texans going to school there…and the comments were actually mostly positive. In fact, there was a guy that attended at the same time from UH that lived down the street from me in Fountain Valley. He and I watched a game at “The Fig” one Saturday and we had the USC kids helping us root the Coogs against Mississippi State.
No kidding. Back when I was at UH in the early 90s, very few would wear UH shirts on campus. Still have my old UH Starter half-zip hooded jacket. Hoping to bust that jacket out one day when we have colder night game at home.
