So, they get to vote on primarily football items?
The ACC does seem like unequal power. You bend over backwards to give them what they want, then theyâll still bail on you.
The ACC should tell ND that if they want them so bad and the conf is in tatters, to get off their ass and join in FB or STFU.
The problem is that there are multiple situations happening simultaneously in regards to the ACC.
- ACC as a conference wants to survive
- FSU and Clemson want out of the ACC
- SMU just wants to be a P5, and the ACC is their best and only shot
- Stanford and Cal want to be P5 teams in the second best âprestigiousâ conference
- Notre Dame wants to remain independent, and by getting Stanford and Cal into the ACC, it restores some stability into the conference because if the ACC implodes, then they will be forced to join a conference
All the teams wanting to join the ACC are doing so for different reasons while numerous teams currently in the ACC want to leave it
There is a LOT of hyperbole flying around this board right now, but this sort of selective historical blindness demands a reality check.
hem⊠You do seem to be forgetting that Arizona was a nobody before they begged their way into the Pac8, stabbing the rest of the WAC in the back, over money of course - and likely would have never achieved that without the major drawing power of the ASU Phoenix market.
So best to watch what stones youâre throwing, Mr. âI live in a desert terrariumâ.
I applaud the strong programs at UA, but you are hardly a powerhouse to be talking such trash. Of course Utah fandom has itâs overexuberant blowhards drunk on hyperbole (and raging frustration right now). Show me a school that doesnât. But at least Utah took those 12 years and made the most of them⊠unlike our unfortunate bros on the other side of the Rockies⊠Hopefully Deion can rein in his ego and turn that program around.
If you woulda told me even 3 years ago that weâd have Utah and Arizona fans fighting on our board, I would have just said âStfu CoogBoog.â
Promote and relegate like 8 teams a year and I am sold
Yep, thatâs been reported before when the 7 schools were exploring options to bust up the GOR that seems only to need a simple majority vote.
5-7 no revenue???
Only an idiot would do that. Theyâre gonna get raided and implode when theyâre contract ends in 2030 and B12 gets all the money the year prior.
Desperate times call for desperate measures but all this angst (not to mention serious )
over 3 hours of pass time once a week for 4 months a year.
Nuck Fotre Dame
UHâs P5 ascension broke SMU. They will literally join for free as long as its P5.
I actually wanted SMU to be in the Big 12 to try and restore as much of the SWC as we could, but itâs TCU who doesnât want them in.
If it werenât for TCU, SMU would probably be in the Big 12

Either StanCal goes Indy, or they join the Big 12. No way they join the MWC at this point

Yep - this book is closed. Sorry StanCal and SMU.
soâŠsomebody pulled a USC to not create more road blocks when you attempt to leave the conference.
Big 12 = conference of teams that nobody wants
You crack me up. All over the place with your views. On one hand, donât add Stanford. On the other hand you place all schools in some misfit bucket. Who are you to judge Kansas, TT, Baylor, etc? You should hope that UH can manage in this league.
