Agreed. I went to YouTube and watched her Anti-Hero music video. Now I can say I’ve heard her music while knowing it was her music. I was neither wowed nor horrified. She’s talented, has a vision, making it real. I just hadn’t identified songs as being her songs.

Counterpoint: why bring in a celebrity or otherwise notable performer to perform the National Anthem if you don’t want them to put their spin on it? Plenty of otherwise-competent folks out there.

Have a military band or school band perform it without vocals. Problem solved.
I have never knowingly listened to Drake or Taylor Swift. I’m sure their music is really really good though just because of the numbers.
I have listened to some Beyoncé, same thing. Must be a generation thing, I think.
One of my favorite episodes of King of the Hill is when they stand up for the National Anthem before the Super Bowl, and they pull out a paper to see who won the pot on the time the performer would take to sing it.
For what it’s worth, I’d be happy if that thing were replaced with “American the Beautiful.”
Joseph Duarte for the Chron usually times the national anthem before the football games and posts the time on Twitter in his pre-game ritual. That will be a prop bet for the Super Bowl.

A lot of the country guys (and gals) are political, too. It’s also a function of social media tracking every syllable that comes out of a celebrity’s mouth. If you’re gonna have words put in your mouth, you may as well be the one to actually say them.

Thats where I get my information on who to vote for, from the Hollywood types and musicians. Most of who probably flunked out of school.
I wasn’t suggesting that. Politicians line up celebrities to pump up the brand. I’m not particularly influenced by them either. Maybe nobody really is. 
Strange how those who dislike her are mostly the same people who said they would never watch an NFL game due to Kapernick. They want Taylor to stay in her lane, what ever that means. But they love Kid Rock when he shot up cans of budlight.
She is a players GF who is at the games, I have not seen her be political at the games when the camera cuts to her.
Those of you who have issues with her, did you hate it every time they showed Case’s wife at the games?

What is it that some of you “catalog” people you have no cues about?
I could care less what Taylor Swift thinks about one side or the other. That is her personal choice not ours. She is very popular. Great for her. I admire the fact that she went after she was rapped. That alone puts her for me at the top. I don’t like her voice but she is indeed highly talented.
Why are some of you obsessed?
