Basis for disdain for Taylor Swift is?

I can’t stand the kelces as we know they’re using her for their brand - now the brother acts like he hasn’t seen a camera ever the way he’s all over the place

The Kelces as a family are rich and were already famous to NFL fans. Jason and Travis will get gold jackets. Why be so mean? Let everyone have some fun.

Love let’s write about love. Why even consider something else. Let them be. Unreal.

I mean…it takes two to tango. Some of these folks should know better by now.

It is a love story but some prefer to open a thread about disdain for Taylor Swift. What does that tell you?

That would be a tautology.

Let’s be honest and accurate. Her first album was 2006. Within 5 years she was the highest grossing female tour. Her fame was great very early and it only took her 7 years to break tour world records.

Being honest, you are wrong

Swift promoted her self-titled debut album in 2006–2008 by touring as an opening act for country musicians Rascal Flatts,[1] George Strait,[2] Kenny Chesney,[3] Brad Paisley,[4][5] and Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.[6] She promoted her second studio album, Fearless (2008), with her first headlining concert tour, the Fearless Tour (2009–2010). It visited six countries and grossed over $66 million from 118 shows.[7] The Speak Now World Tour, which supported Swift’s third album Speak Now (2010), followed in 2011–2012 and visited 18 territories across Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania across 110 dates.[7] It was the highest-grossing tour by a female artist and by a solo artist in 2011[8] and grossed over $123 million in total.[7]

Swift’s next tours broke world records. The Red Tour (2013–14), which supported Red (2012), became the highest-grossing country tour after its completion with $150 million grossed from 86 shows in 12 countries.[7][9] The 1989 World Tour (2015), which supported 1989 (2014), encompassed 85 dates in 11 countries and was the highest-grossing tour of 2015 with $250 million.[7][10] Its North American shows grossed $199.4 million and surpassed the Rolling Stones’ 2005 record.[11] This record was broken by Swift’s 2018 Reputation Stadium Tour, which supported Reputation (2017)—its North American leg grossed $202.3 million and set the record for the highest-grossing North American tour of all time.[12]

I have to add text to my smiley response or it won’t go through. Should I quote Shakespeare, Milton, or Nicholas Sparks?

And 100% self-evident

Is this inappropriate? Asking for a friend.

Elvis was asked about politics and here is what he said which is right.

I like some of Taylor’s music but singers should be careful not to alienate possibly half an audience by one statement. Jane Fonda as an actress was hated after what she did by at least half the country. Kane west also got hated by half the country.

Best practice is stay out of it.

FWIW, a significant percentage of renditions being “performed” by Artist XYZ!! are worse than what the conspiracy theorists fear. Just sing the national anthem. Don’t spin it, perform it, draw it out, dramatize it, or put your own special take on it. Just sing it and sit the hell down. Don’t make it about you.

I don’t live under a rock and as far as I know, I have never listened any of her music. If she has music that is played on classic country or golden oldies stations or sports talk radio I may have but wouldn’t recognize it.

I heard on 610 or 690 radio this morning, Taylor Swift has resulted in $340 million to the NFL since her relationship with Kelce has been made public and has more than doubled the number of women that watch the NFL games – namely KC games. More eyeballs mean higher ratings and higher program sales and higher income from advertisers because rates are based on viewership. Kelce jerseys have gone through the roof.

As long as the networks and the NFL are benefitting from showing her she will continue to be shown. I say good for her and those who don’t like watching her should learn to just live with it because it’s really nothing to get worked up about.

That figure sounds dubious at best. Better ratings, sure, but I doubt they’ve been able to generate anything close to that in actual revenues yet. Probably someone estimating total worth now with the increase…but most, if not all, the TV revs are likely tied up in contract numbers set long ago.
