AP Top 25: UH is #2 for Week of March 17th - Final AP Regular Season Poll

UH can be in top 5 by Monday if the games go right this week. Of course we got two tough games to handle first.

It could be laziness or lack of knowledge, but it’s probably more of a ‘dare to be different’ situation to call attention to himself (we’re all obviously talking about it and I’m sure he’s hearing about it, too, which is probably what he’s after…wouldn’t doubt he’s even been invited to speak on several radio/television outlets to specifically explain his omission…so, yeah, probably more of a selfish ploy). I call it Skip Bayless syndrome as Bayless has made an entire living out of intentionally subscribing to unpopular opinions in his career. It’s always made zero sense to me and really just bad use of and regard for your ‘profession.’

But this guy is obviously no different from that.

But they most likely won’t……DePaul is elite….didn’t you know that! :joy:

And now the schedule gets tougher.

Per KenPom, UH through 16 games is 0-3 in “A” strength games, and 5-0 in “B” strength games. His analog of Quad 1 and Quad 2. We have 8 wins in games that are neither A nor B strength

Going forward, UH has 11 “A” strength games remaining, and 3 “B” games. Only 1 game neither A nor B.

Buckle up!

The Q1 wins should take care of themselves.

But the committee won’t punish them. Whatever seed they get will be deserved and right where it should be (no worse than a 3 if everything holds up as it should). They’ve done enough over the last several years to get the respect they’ll need. We won’t have to worry about that, I’m sure.

Gary Parrish, i usually respect his basketball takes. Has Houston 21st in his rankings. Absurd

“No Quad 1 wins, durrrrr”

Kansas loses. They haven’t looked great. How are they 12th?

We had some clunkers early. But eye test, we look like a Top 10 team.

His Memphis Tigers, last 3 games, not playing like Top25 team. Lets see where he ranks them.

Big difference between us and Kansas is they beat Duke by 3 on the night we lost to Bama in OT. It’s like Coach says, people overreact to wins and losses. If we’d won that game people would be singing our praises but it wouldn’t really change what we are. We just need to keep TCOB. It’ll all work itself out.

Thats true. Kansas is still a good team. Currently 7th in KenPom

Bracket Matrix has us as a 5 seed. Which is Top20 team.

Our resume wins will come. 11 Quad 1 games left

We are 26 in KPI because we haven’t beaten anybody.

But top 3 in NCAA Net, KenPom and ESPN BPI based on scoring margin vs. strength of schedule.

Parrish is a Memphis dude who like a lot of other Memphis people hate UH. Think how much we hate UT. Memphis looks at us in the same way.

Gonzaga took an L too from Oregon State. They can’t play petruid Pepperdine or pathetic Pacific at home every game.

Especially since the whole lore about how Memphis supposedly had the 4th spot in the Big 12 alongside BYU, UCF and Cincinnati.

Then came along Big Bad UH calling the governor, lt. governor and several state legislators who happen to be UH alums and made multiple threats to the Texas Big.
12 schools and stole the last spot from Memphis.

Remember when people in here thought Kansas was the best/talented team on paper :joy::joy::joy::sob::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

They could still win the conference. It’s still early in conference play.

I doubt that. They’ll have to jump so many teams. Even the great Bill Self can’t make miracles.

Even people in Kansas can’t wait for Darryn Peterson to save them.

There are four teams ahead of them. Those teams have tough road games, including having to play in Lawrence. It’s still early.

I mean Baylor & Texas Tech are still there, too! Almost everyone can still win conference but won’t due to lack of depth/firepower.

Safe to say Iowa St & Houston are in the best position to win due to being ahead by several games.

What kind of “threats”?

Come on, guys! Besides not making any sense whatsoever with zero evidence, (not to mention simple common sense) Memphis was more valuable than Houston? Really? Oh but Gregg Abbott shook his finger! And that’s what it took. :exploding_head:

That’s one hell of an inferiority complex. No offense.

Edit: @GrayTheCoog, did I miss some sarcasm?
