Antisemitism can't be ignored

Are you not proud of Jewish accomplishments?

You should be.

I am going to start listing them because when you put them to paper…damn they are impressive.

I was trying to avoid the political aspect. I said as much in my post.

Uh, no.

My last two posts were about Arthur Butz and Russell Rickford.

Coogcheese responded with a post about a different professor, but I offered no commentary on that one.

From what I can tell, she didn’t do anything that should have gotten her canned, and I’d argue against canning her.

Unlike the two academians that I mentioned, both of whom are at elite private universities, she isn’t a straight-up anti-Semite. That’s not exactly a good comparison.

Butz, as I said, unfortunately, is protected by tenure…even though as recently as the 2020s he publicly praised Iran’s Ahmadinejad for speaking out in denial of the Holocaust.

It’s now policy at Northwestern U. that anytime he teaches a class, another section of that class must be offered, simply so that students that don’t want anything to do with the guy don’t have to take HIS courses in the EE department.

OK. I understand now, but know that you did indeed respond to a post in which the woman at A&M was also mentioned, hence my confusion. I am glad you see her termination was wrongful, and an obvious violation of the 1st amendment (my emphasis, not yours).

Same.

Actually, the more I think about it, in a thread about anti-semitism, Coog51’s asinine quip is borderline, if not full on anti-semitic.

I don’t consider Chris Columbus to have had any Jewish accomplishments. In fact, I think knowing his history of spreading Christianity on behalf of the King who started the Spanish Inquisition that calling his accomplishments as Jewish Accomplishments is downright offensive.

I am absolutely pro Jewish and pro Israel.

What are you talking about?

See my post slightly above, because it applies to you specifically.

See my post. I find your posts offensive.

You are being ridiculous.

Are you ok?

I don’t think it’s intentional but it would certainly feed antisemitism.

Sit back and watch, smarty pants. Think about your words.

What is the other intention?

Btw there is already a month for celebrating Jewish Americans.

How is being pro Israel and pro jewish accomplishments offensive?

I think people of Jewish faith do have impressive accomplishments. That could be all that he’s trying to say.

Now you’re being obtuse. I find calling Columbus’s activities a Jewish accomplishment offensive. Although I made that clear already.

To tie in a person who widely divides this nation based on colonialism, and some say genocide, to his possible Jewish heritage, is a pretty bad look for you.

Why not tie him into the Rothschilds and call it a day.
