defending the post has been a weakness ofours, and our league doesnt even have dominant offensive bigs
we were blessed with a bracket where we wouldnt meet a dominant big till earliest the sweet 16…potentially the elite 8 if wofford pulls an upset
but on the flip our 2nd biggest weakness is really tall guards (Quinton rose, cumberland gave us issues)
and we will meet extremely tall guards in every game…gsu bigs are just 6’6 guards…ISU’s top scorer is a 6’6 guard …kentucky has like 5 6’5+ guards
this is where we miss a guy like devin who was tall and could defend guards
He was conference POY and on the Naismith midseason list which is not bad?
I agree that what he’s good at it looks better against us than against a team that can throw bigger bodies at him.
I wasn’t as worried about taller skinnier guards (also for some reason was thinking Shayok was a skinny 6’3" rather than 6’6"), but I forgot Rose scored a bunch on us. He shot poorly but got to the line a bunch. Not sure if that would be anomalous.
I’ve never seen you posting on the basketball boards and your name tells me all I need to know. This team is driven to advance in the tournament from the bad taste left from Michigan the last year. This team is very headstrong and will be ready for GSU.
Here is a bracket based on Massey Composite final rankings. Plan to do this for several different ratings to see which comes the closest. I definitely think UNC is over-ranked in every system because of it’s two wins against Duke without Zion. Virginia Tech’s win against Duke in the same period probably was enough to make them an undeserving favorite over Miss State as well.
this may not be the best place to discuss this, my mild statements appear to have hurt some people here…i sincerely apologize…I will post my opinions elsewhere, and if anyone wants to discuss it with me there, feel free
lol we have more bark than bite…you can post your opinions…we have some random trolls that just pop up only when we lose to down talk us…i think they are mixing in you in with that crowd but i think you are respectable poster with legitimate opinion
as far as your take:
we are playing drastically better now, we were struggling badly vs rice and utrgv to start the season…
every single game we played we were fighting for our lives in the 1st half vs everyone including horrible teams earlier aswell…
and note the aac back-loads your schedule if they think you will be good…start with tulane and ecu and finish with 3 cincys and ucf and anyone willl seem like they are plying worse …
our bigs werent more consistent, they were playing weaker competition
free throws are the only thing i think has gotten worse
I appreciate your opinion. I will however refrain from continuing this discussion in detail here at this particular site, as my opinions seem to upset some, possibly because I have not made enough posts here before. I don’t want to hurt anyone or give anyone a grievous injury. Mental stability can be a very delicate thing.
I humbly apologize for my moniker, as it appears to have offended some here. I am very rarely offended. But others here seem to have been offended. For that I humbly and sincerely apologize.
If anyone is grievously hurt by my “takes” or by my moniker, or if anyone has their mental stability shaken to the very core by my moniker or by my post count or by my “takes,” then please discuss it with me elsewhere…a mind is a terrible thing to waste…
You just said we weren’t as good as earlier in the season. What part of our 31-3 record and winning the regular season championship made you even come up with that take? Less than two weeks ago we curb stomped Cincy at their place. It was just a really bad take.
