I should probably stop telling parents what a great conference the Southland is and saying SFU and SAM are in it.
Lot of it is concern that Texas isn’t ready for SEC in baseball and need someone that is going to be using NIL/transfer portal more. Pierce is old school and more about player development. And Texas losing to A&M Corpus Christi and utrv with Texas resources is alarming.
Nice pick up as a UTL guy and maybe big for the bullpen.

You’ve probably addressed this before and I missed it but, if David Pierce was interested in the job at Houston would you be in favor of him as our next coach?
Also if you’re not a fan of him, who else would you like to see us go after? I wonder if the East Carolina Coach ( I can’t remember his name) would have any interest. I’d probably take a look at the assistants at A&M, Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina etc.
