If UH hired Meyer, UH’s integrity and reputation would take a major hit. You might as well hire Art Briles as OC and Kendal Briles as QB coach. You might want to build a HPD substation on campus also, for all the shenanigans that will occur
Dr. Khator would never sign off on Meyer and thank our lucky stars because of it.
I’d be careful going after any coach that isn’t getting it done right now in the current college football landscape despite their past history of success. Look at Dana in the post game presser talking about how the game has changed so much and how he has to sit down with roughly 60 current players next week and recruit them to stay before recruiting outside guys.
This new way of college football is changing quick and we need someone that welcomes that challenge and is demonstrating the changes have been beneficial to them and their program. For every coach like Dana that’s complaining about the changes, there is a coach out there that is benefitting and taking advantage of said changes.
This may be a bit of a stretch but head coaches who cannot or will not adapt to the changes in college football, namely NIL, transfers and the revolving door of roster players, remind me of a generation of the population who refused to adapt to the technological revolution and learn even the basics of computers. Those who could not adapt were slowly replaced by individuals who were technically more proficient.
Same fundamental issue with head coaches. Those who lack organization and management skills, portal management and to the extent possible, NIL donations, will find themselves coaching a sport of yesteryear and not adapting to the times.
He just like to keep lonely ladies at bars occupied with a little dance once in awhile. What’s wrong with that? 
I would honestly feel very confident with Gary Patterson as head coach going into next season.
Dear god no… Patterson is an absolute A-hole to the point he makes Holgerson look like a saint. And his recruiting and coaching style are outdated. Not to mention he hates NIL and would actively recruit in a way that is hurt by NIL.
He is completely washed up and there is a reason no one is clamoring to hire him.
He is the only one of the list of potential hires that I would feel confident could get us through that schedule next season. Period. All of the others would have a lot to adjust to, especially the first time head coaches. Also, I don’t care if he is an A-hole. I want to win. That’s ALL I care about.
Also, he doesn’t hate NIL. He said NIL is important to compete in cfb today.
I will take Art Briles…

Fritz was 31-43 at Tulane from 2016-2021. You think he’d still be head coach at UH if we hired him and he did the same thing here?
His seat would be hotter than Dana’s with that record after six years.

Comparing Tulane to a Texas state school in Big 12 is ridiculous…Tulane is like RICE, very high academics, private school, G5…not easy to recruit there, and Tulane historically bad with one or 2 exceptions for decades…He’s been there 8 years and had 4 winning seasons, a .500 season and 3 losing seasons…He’s already won 1 championship and is playing for another…He is 3-1 in bowl games for Tulane…He took a doormat and made them champs…He also won championships at Sam Houston and BlinnJC…He is a WINNER…and he would build a winner here, too…and it sure as h*** wouldnt take more than 5 years either…
He’s 63, how many more years will he be coaching? Other than Mack Brown, are there any football head coaches older than him?
