I was one of the earliest anti-dana people on this board. But we NEED the right hire, if we cant get it, then another year of dana ball is probably better long term.

The Miss St 247sports publisher has consistently dropped nuggets about the UH job this week. Today he said he’s hearing Odom from UNLV and Fritz as names to watch once Dana gets fired.

I think the consensus here is Fritz.

My only worry with Fritz is the buyout. If he’s keeping retirement in mind, then I see him asking for a high buyout. That could really screw us into another Dana situation if it doesn’t work out with Fritz

Good luck. He’s making around $10MM/year with ESPN talking football. Talking is infinitely better than coaching a struggling program with little fan support.

Tilman would have to make him a Golden Nugget partner just to garner his attention and we know that isn’t going to happen.

Odom has done a heck of a job at UNLV. They won 5 games last year, 2 the year before that, and are now 9-2. He was a decent head coach at Missouri. He took over a program that had to vacate its win his first season, so there were probably personnel issues.

I would be overjoyed if Urban was our HC.

Is he a sleezebag? Yes. But he’s a winner. A proven winner at EVERY school he’s coached at.
