I am really anxious to see how Francis has progressed in AU. He is one of the keys this season. If he can stay out of foul trouble and contribute some offense around the basket, the CKS experiment worked. I hope Lath doesn’t get force fed because of Francis’ foul troubles.
That will be Tugler and small ball
with those 2 , there is only 1 unknown game left
if we are still following our old philosophy it should be 1 big home game… (traditionally, its 1 big away, 1 big neutral and 1 big home game)
but sampson has not hid the fact that he planned this years non con to be on the easier side, so it could be just another buy game
-
all 7 “known” home games are probably easy wins for us
-
a&m returns 4 of 5 starters from a top 25 team, so theyll likely be top 25 again, the only major challenge in the ooc (so far)
-
xavier is in a massive rebuild, they added some good transfer (no insane home runs). they can beat us, but if we are a top20 (much less top 10) we should win
-
the mte is just full of teams like xavier, 5 of them should be competitive, but if you are a top 20 you should probably be beating them …the most lauded being st johns… who was bad last year, lost a ton to the transfer portal… but they added HOF coach pitino, still have a super touted center, and added a bunch of high PPG mid major guards… (getting top 25 votes from coach rep)
We can win all of them but top 20 and even top 10 teams can lose to solid teams, especially playing on the road or neutral sites.
Heck, they can even lose to a not very good Temple team at home.
We just so happened to play the best version of temple on a day where we didn’t have our A game and with some highly questionable officiating. The worst call of the game of course at the end that gave them the late lead. It happens and is the reason teams don’t go undefeated.
Exactly. You can always plan for at least one complete head scratcher every season.
I will also add that temple was playing like an NCAA team at that time. They eventually fell apart.
McFarland up 15 pounds now
ooff… those OOC Home Games are going to be rough…
Or the upper level at the Astrodome.
Or was it lower level? Now I forget.
Upper Deck!!!
Then they had a dark gray section higher than the upper deck. As a kid it was pretty steep looking down!!!
i wish we could move games around put 3 or 4 conference games in nov/dec… put 3/4 of our buy games as rest/reset games in jan/February
i get why we are doing a joke schedule, we are taking an insane jump sos… the bad thing about schedules like these is we won’t know how good we are till conference play… we could be undefeated or 1 loss… and we probably couldn’t tell if we are #1 or 12th in the Big12
also hope this is just an adjustment schedule and not the fulltime big 12 scheduling philosophy
Oh boy! Texas A&M. Mark your calendars now for 12/16/23.
