What angers and outrages me the most is

The raiding of the staff before our bowl game. Khan reporting most of the staff are not staying for the bowl game. I think that is the most unprofessional and crappiest thing to do to the kids and the school. I have lost so much respect for Herman over this, now that the facts are coming out.

Yeah yeah, that’s the way it goes, and it’s just business blah blah blah… To quote John Mellencamp:

“Hey calling it your job ol hoss sure dont make it right But if you want me to Ill say a prayer for your soul tonight”.

Don’t know about the other guys, but Lovo wipes his ass everyday, so he needed him pretty quick…

Kind of hypocritical of him to stay and coach for OSU, but let his coaches screw us over. But you know what, we will do what we’ve always done…SURVIVE!!!

Herman should have told them that they must stay through the bowl game if they want to come along with him. If UT goes to a bowl this year, the system is truly broken.

We’ve been played Dan. And I loved the guy. I believed him. Bought in. But he’s part of the problem with all of college ball. I thought he was different.

There is too much to say for the way this whole situation was handled. How can we teach students about leadership and service to others. Hell, did not TH say himself he wants to raise “men, fathers, and professionals” and this is the example he leaves them. Is this how we should conduct ourselves? Am I being naive here folks? Am I blind? Is this how we should be conducting ourselves? Is doing the right thing for the poor and helpless?

Left Church today with a heavy mind.

I am right there with you. If we are naive, then I’ll be naive. Character matters.

We have been on the receiving end more times than I care to remember–
Briles took recruits and our top running back, and had his staff working Baylor recruits on our dime leading up to the bowl game. Maggard had to give them the heave-ho.

Now turn the page–
Sumlin stayed with OU until after their bowl game-- to our recruiting and staff-building detriment.
Herman stayed at Ohio State until after their national championship. Despite the fact that we needed to get moving on recruiting.
We then praised these two coaches as having integrity to finish the job. Then we really see that they were doing what was in their best interest. Sumlin and Herman were all really about the P5 job.

Now Herman guts our staff to start work at Texas while we are preparing for a bowl game. Oh well, we’re only going to the Poulan Weedeater Bowl.

So much for us being nice guys. Many times it just means that you get screwed in the process… And you don’t get kissed. Well, at least some people got kissed.

Today his press conference set me off. He said almost the exact same things as he did when he took the UH job. There were things I did not like but we won games. But Herman is a total fraud and snake oil salesman. I wish parents and kids would remember and recall all of this but memories are short and they won’t.

I was just in Ohio for thanksgiving and there is talk that Urban may retire in a few years or have his eye on the ND job he has always wanted. The irony would be poetic if Herman starts to play UT and squeeze them for more money hinting he might take the OSU job if it comes open.

Agree, Meyer is a devout Catholic and that is his dream job. At least he has made it public. The OSU job is interesting. The job gives you a recruiting carte blanche to the entire state of Ohio. They basically have no competition.

I remember when the news came out that Sumlin was leaving for A&M. At nearly the same time (prior to the Southern Miss game), it was announced Larry Fedora had been hired at North Carolina. Larry proceeded to whip our tails in that game and then stayed on to coach Southern Miss in the Liberty Bowl that year while Sumlin left and Levine coached us in the Ticket City Bowl against Penn State. Sumlin deserted a team chock full of seniors and I have never forgiven him for it.

I had so many arguments with Aggie friends (I know, my choice to have Aggie friends is on me) who tried to tell me Sumlin had to leave to continue recruiting efforts. All I had to do was point to Larry Fedora to get them to shut up.

Leaving a program before the season ends is a pathetic and selfish move and not necessary. Any argument that it is is complete hogwash.

I just hope that when Herman comes to Houston to recruit, the High School kids remember that he DESERTED the kids he loved here in H-town . . . . .

Amen. Absolutely. If Herman had done that, I think the backlash would have been much less.

Lots of things that anger us the most

The big 12 thing
The UT Houston thing
The PUF thing
The way one state university uses and abuses another
Lies and Kisses

THERE SHOULD BE HELL TO PAY
