Walz seemed to actually have substance and explanations behind his answers. Vance deflected a little better, which may matter more but who knows. Best parts were jan 6th wasn’t Facebook ads, damning non-answer, Vance implying trump saved ACA and Walz explaining why that seems pretty absurd, and Vance trying to explain Trump had a peaceful transfer of power (ha ha). Walz started off a little uneasy but thought he settled in and did a good job actually elaborating. He did have some Biden-face when he was looking at Vance. Vance was smoother so if that’s what wins debates with some people, then I guess I could see it.
JV Dance is by far the least experienced VP pick.
Last I checked, Joe was sworn in on Jan 20, 2021.
Last I checked, Congress had to leave the building because Trumps rabid supporters came to get them to disrupt the counting of electoral votes because of Trump’s scheme to overturn the election.
Nice try to whitewash what will forever be a stain on our democracy in the service of a vain man.
Watch the new documentary, “Stop the Steal” and get back to me.
Clown car logic.
Come on now Bro.
You can’t tell me that Trump didn’t gaslight that crap on January 6th.
That was definitely NOT a peaceful transfer of power.
At a barricaded ceremony without the Incumbent President for the first time in our history. Do you really expect Americans to buy that Jan 6th was peaceful? We have eyes and can watch the tape
What’s a little bear spray and flag pole beating between friends, eh?
Not acknowledging Jan 6?
Your bias is on display. I flipped between several stations and the democrats were generally spinning, but one Dem consultant said that Vance gave Walz a master class in debate. Another was angry with Walz and said he agreed with Vance so much, she wondered if he would vote for him.
Masterclass? Hardly. But I wouldn’t argue that I certainly thought Vance gave a better performance than Walz. Sure it was all bull crap of the highest order, but in the moment it was better. He did lose the sound bite war though.
Vance’s sudden love of democratic party priorities reducing gun violence, pro-family policies (you know things the Fox monkey brigades call socialism) and bipartisanship, makes me think he viewed this also as his launch point for 2028 in post Trump world. And not the world where Trump wins.
The only person I saw say masterclass was Donald trump jr.
Well I feel even more validated in my assertion then.
I’ve already said Vance won and said it before the debate was over and the talking heads started in. But there are multiple polls out there that say it was close.
As I said earlier, most are going to see what their bias wants them to see on this one. That’s being proven out at some level.
Most dems I saw were mostly mad that walz let Vance get away with a lot.
Yeah it’s the just VP debate, it’s just something for us to chew on. I think at least you and I are in agreement they both performed the number one job in not f’ing things up.
Vance didn’t match out and declare “Of course we’re doing Project 2025, and we’re going to go out and impregnate the women ourselves before stopping abortions”
And Walz didn’t pull a Beto “he’ll yeah we’re coming for your guns”
With that happening I don’t think this moves the needle at all
Yeah, do no harm is the number one goal for the campaigns. I’d guess the veep candidates are generally more worried about their future than anything else.
Presidential debates don’t even have a significant impact anymore, much less veeps.
I do expect to see walz out in the media more after it though. That’s just a gut reaction.
Agreed that’s kind of how I look at Vance’s performance it’s a launching point for his future which is why all of the sudden he was quite concerned about bipartisan gun violence and better family policy solutions.
Be real. NOBODY is choosing President due to the VP. It can hurt, but it rarely helps.
And people have generally said that Vance wins on points, but it wasn’t some sort of wipe out. That’s ridiculous.
I showed bias by presenting three polls that showed there was no clear winner… You’ll have to explain that one to me Red
I grant you that nobody votes for the VP, but for the top of the ticket. However, Vance was good at articulating positions of the ticket which is all one can expect from the VP debate.
