Update on Holgorsen

JD tweeting.

Interesting that Kendal Briles is OC and they are considering bringing in Holgorsen as a consultant. Maybe Nebraska wised up.

Initial reports were Nebraska, but maybe Nebraska and Iowa got smarter.

I wonder how TCU’s DC is feeling right about now? I hope TCU’s defense is well conditioned because that offense has a lot of 3 and outs.

He is probably looking to stay in football but not work very hard, probably looking for part time you know 11-4 3 days a week with 2 hrs for lunch .

I thought ‘happy hours’ were longer?

He has gone away; it’s just some on here can’t let him go.

This could offset some of what he’s getting paid. I’m all for it!

It all depends on how the contract was written. If it was worded as head coaching or actual coaching it would be reduced by that amount, but a consultant would not.

Yeah, analysts are usually paid next to nothing on a staff. Just a place for head coaches to stay in the game and go to coaching rehab. Saban used to have a bunch of these including Sark. Read they were paid close to 50k a year as it is seen more of a favor to them to allow them to be on a staff.

I think of it as professional rehabilitation.

I thought the low salaries are there so they can keep collecting severance from the previous school.

Wow that’s incredibly low lol. I figured they’d get $100-$120k or so. Depending on the school of course…

There was an SEC short about the Nick Saban School of Rehabilitation for Coaches.

Just a few: Wisenhunt from Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans. Our very own Major Applewhite. Mario Cristobol after his head coaching stint at FIU. Steve Sarkasian after the USC drinking thing. Mike Locksley former head coach at New Mexico. Dan Enos former head coach at Central Michigan. Butch Jones after Tennessee. Kyle Flood former head coach at Rutgers. Mike Stoops after Arizona. Charlie Strong after USF. Derek Dooley after Tennessee.
