More bad news on that front. I got the final word that Woodward tore his UCL and will be out with Tommy John for at least a year! Sucks for the kid.

CTW has an excuse with Jelks, Woodward and now Duncan (?) out with injuries.
Thanks for the update albeit horrible news. His outing against the horns was tremendous. FB 93-97 and as soon as the sips got used to that, slider and off speed were the killers.

What about Jelkin? Is he out for year too?
Maybe it is the way they coach their pitchers. They have had 8 torn UCL’s in the past year and a couple of strained UCL’s.

Back-to-back blown 4-0 leads this series. I don’t think this team is bad, I think they’re broken. Now actively cheering to not be swept each weekend.

I believe he is on a throwing program to try to get him good to go. They don’t seem to be pressuring him to come back in, which is good. He has a chance to be a really high draft pick so they don’t need to be playing with his career. If I were him, I would take off the rest of the year and get ready for the draft!

Yeah, announcers said Coogs are snake bit. There was good enthusiasm by the team with the lead but Cinci chipped its way back in and UH couldn’t add more runs. Cinci reliever was solid. Ours wear out.

That is a bunch of BS. The announcers are buying into the “woe is me” mentality that TW is giving them. You make your breaks in baseball. I am sorry but when you can’t finish the game against UT, that doesn’t mean you are snake bit, it means you made a stupid decision to bring Citelli in too soon.

Just because you throw with velocity doesn’t mean you are a good pitcher. You need movement and a good off-speed pitch or you are going to get timed up by every team on your schedule. Velocity down the middle doesn’t scare hitters anymore!

5th series loss to Cincy. 14-1-5 all time. 4 of the 5 series losses have come since 2018, and it’s not because UC has become a powerhouse. The Coogs need to win tomorrow if they want to avoid being swept by UC for the first time.
I was tested at Duke’s Interpretive Psychology Lab and I outscored a rock by 37 basis points.
Recruiting is enthusiasm and sales. And a deficiency in either is catastrophic. You can’t just mosey up to a kid one time and tell them who you are. You gotta live it.

I usually enjoy catching a few games each season, I coach track, so it is difficult when we are in season. Just not worth the drive across town to catch the game when it is live on ESPN Plus. Change the leadership and have a competitive team, and I will be back.
Good news is volleyball starts soon. Coach Rehr and the team are fun to watch.
