Yep. I remember when we joined the Big 12 this board would debate whether or not we would be signing 4 stars with regularity and if so how many would be realistic to expect.

Although 4 and 5 stars get all of the attention I’ve always thought that we had major room for improvement in getting high 3 stars. If folks compare our previous classes to other Big 12 schools then they’ll see that this is where we were really lacking. It’s how those schools have been able to build deeper rosters year over year.

UH signees with over .87 247 composite rankings:

2025: 5 (commits so far)
2024: 5
2023: 5
2022: 5
Big 12 announcement
2021: 2
2020: 1
2019: 1
2018: 0
2017: 1 (didn’t qualify)
2016: 5 (Herman!!!)
2015: 1
2014: 0

So it’s clear that we were really struggling here prior to the Big 12 invite. Dana pulled in 5 for both of his post invite classes. Fritz signed 5 in his transition class. He was 5 committed already in this class. I understand why there’s so much pessimism about the program, but I think the results are coming and folks will be pleasantly surprised.

he came to play football because of his brother, his recruitment was not a traditional recruitment. its not a knock, its just is what it is. he wouldn’t have come here otherwise. I’m certainly glad he ended up at UH.

My UH Time Machine pulls up the Olivers, the Brezina brothers, the Klingler brothers, Chuck (football) and Billy Ray (Golf) Brown. Too many to count.

UH is like any other school and use whatever angle works for an individual recruit.

RJ Lee was our lowest ranked recruit so far but picked UH over TX Tech, Pitt, Memphis and Boston College. He visited Tech on June 14. Great prospect on the OL.
