What is high enough? I would assume first round pick. After the combine I don’t know if he’ll get sure fire answer unless someone loves him. He feels like a second rounder now. Projected late first to second round. Could increase his stock with another year at college at a high level program and become an automatic first rounder.
While I agree with you analysis, top talent most often lowers their draft stock if they stay in college. Age alone is a big determinant in the NBA analytics algorithms. This year may test that because more players are starting in college because this is a strong draft year and next year is supposedly going to be historically low
That’s true but because of his circumstances he has a chance to go round one next year. It’s kind of interesting though because I think he’s still be an NBA project no matter what. So he wouldn’t be a senior drafted that could potentially make a day one impact like Buddy Hield or Davion Mitchell.
I think with guys like Nelson the NBA guys like to build them from the ground up
wasn’t sure where to comment on this - but on ESPN radio this morning they were discussing how the NBA teams that are doing good - Lakers, Philly and Denver - all have a dominate big man.
they took the conversation to how the NBA may be shifting back to running an offense through a strong big man again.
found that interesting since we are always debating whether or not a real big man is needed or not.
