I don’t know about any larger conversation the boards been having. I’m just giving my 2 cents about some of the quotes I saw in this thread. I just think Sampson has a tendency to construct us against the world narratives. He focuses on the challenges in front of him rather than stopping to pick the flowers. Moving to the new league offers us some new challenges but it brings along some benefits as well. I think a lot of our media guys would like to just do write ups about how exciting the transition will be but that’s just not his personality. So hes got his mantra he’s gonna repeat and that’s that.
Sharp gonna give Dunn a run for his minutes… Book it.
I don’t think Sampson would go “oh we missed someone due to NIL” and then say “there’s a few guys we’re going hard after”. I would imagine he would keep that under wraps. Like he said, no one knew we were getting Kyler, Taze, Carlton until they committed.
Also, if we aren’t going after anyone and he likes the roster, why would we have Isaac Jones visit? Why offer Nelson afterwards before Jones even picked WSU?
If what Jo says is true about us having a group have guys we are looking at then I would say we are/were going after at least someone. Why else would Jo mention that Nelson being offered could be the backup plan?
So maybe Sampson wouldn’t be opposed to adding one last player. But then again I know he loves that open scholarship.
I hope you’re right.
I too, am team Sharp
ive stated this before… if this team is playing to its potential at the end of the season ,sharp or TA have jumped dunn… sharp as an offensive monster or TA as a national dpoy type player
100%
we know what Dunn is. I expect him to improve but he basically is what he is.
we’ve got a LOT of potential on our bench. im hoping this off season does us well.
I can live with a 15 ppg scorer being our first or second guy off the bench. Would speak volumes to how deep we are as a team.
You guys are forgetting Dunn gets to the line, unless the others are getting to the line as much as Dunn, he is going to be hard to jump.
Sharp can drive too… He’s not just a set shooter.
these kids (im 39…) need to be reminded how good they are sometimes. we saw glimpses of Sharp last year when he’d drive the lane and make a move - he needs to remember he can do that.
im looking for big things from TA also.
42… And I just finished running full court for 2 hours…
couch, whisky and PGA Champ for me but different strokes lol
edit - we need a stretch 4…
I’m only 6’3" in socks… But I’ll fill that ship like Bowser and Wilson did last year…
High schoolers, no?
Seems to be for high schoolers only (and maybe those who complete JUCO?):
NLI Recruiting FAQs (nationalletter.org)
Do I sign an NIL if I transfer to another four-year institution?
“No. NLI policy prohibits student-athletes transferring from one four-year institution to another four-year institution (4-4 transfer) from signing an NLI inasmuch as they are no longer prospective student-athletes.”
OT—but made me think about guys getting to the line.
In UIL HS there will be no more 1 and 1….all two shots now….also, fouls will go by quarter rather than halves.
5 team fouls in a quarter get you to the line.
Wonder if NCAA will do something similar…women have the quarters already.
booo it’s fine how it is. Why do people try to fix things that aren’t broken
I don’t like the idea at all. College BB is a game of ebb and flows. Won’t happen if clock strategy pops up four times a game.
I personally cringed whenever the Coogs had the ball with under a minute left.
Seems like an effort to reduce fouling in HS basketball for whatever reason imo…
You have to think a lot harder about fouling knowing there is a 50% chance they get 1 point per possession whereas before, on a 1-on-1, you might steal a possession back.
