You may not NEED one. But why not have one? Why avoid going after them altogether?

something i noticed last year… is that not only are there limited bigs, they all tend to gather to a few schools …youd see like 40 schools battling for 10 bigs, but will somehow see a school land 2

We are missing out on all the big men, Sampson betting all on Roberts, Francis and Lath

Because the biggest/glaring weakness on the team is the 4 position with one ship available.

Roberts is farrr from a 4. Just ask Sampson.

its the 5… our top returning big is technically a 4 in roberts, and our top incoming recruit is technically a 4 in jojo
the issues is just that they dont shoot and we are putting them at the 5…

sampson specfically calls roberts a 4…

He doesnt have the skill set of a 4 right now. Not enough handles or shooting. Especially when you play him with another center. It can clog the middle too much running Sampson’s swinging offense on top.

he does have the skillset, he just chooses not to use it…if you looked at our practices or pregames youd think roberts was a 4 who shoots lots of 3s

Dwight Howard was an amazing shooter in practice and in the off season. Its another thing when the lights are on and they game plan for you on your weaknesses!

Its a little worrisome that he hasnt tried more 3’s during the flow of the offense or when he is open on the perimeter.

Wanna guess what is his career % from the 3 pt line heading into his 4th year & 5th w/the program ?!

Either you have it or not…doing something in practice versus in the game are two different animals. You are who you are and the tape shows it.

Ben Simmons comes to mind. Dude is a solid shooter in practice but some how doesnt shoot during games.

And if its on CKS orders that should tell you he probably shouldnt be shooting, which i doubt.

Ive always said our need was a 5.

Cause having Arceneaux, Jwan Roberts and Tugler at the 4, i was okay with. Roberts is possibly 1 yr away from turning pro. He has to transition to more of a perimeter player at 6’7"

6’8" Francis and 2 freshmen bigs behind him, i felt we could and should upgrade their. But centers in the portal are highly coveted ($$ NIL)

It’s a glaring hole…

It can be worked around with our stellar guards and wings next season… but an athletic rebounding, shot-blocking center that can play the monster can’t possibly hurt the roster and team.

Mods can we start a separate “In CKS we trust” board so people can post “in CKS I trust” all day and not have to blow a gasket reading about other people just talking hoops.

I don’t look to much into 4 or 5. We play bigs and guards. I just want someone who can stretch the floor.

4s - guys who can play on the perimeter, guard on the perimeter, but also rebound well enough. Can also score in the paint if needed

5s- true rim protector, that not only block shots, but make easy shots difficult. Lob threat in pick and rolls. Keeps offensive rebounds alive with tips

For guys like Arceneaux & Ramon Walker, who wanna see more minutes, the 4 spot would be an option for them next yr
