There absolutely are options / choices. There always are.
First, identify WHO suggested / initiated the contract extension for the coach. If that person has an expiring contract, let it expire. If we can afford to get rid of that person, do it.
Second, loosen DH’s control of the staff. Someone else should be looking for quality replacement coaches for Offense and Defensive Coordinators, and give them scheme responsibility. If we have to have DH stay around, he needs to be a figure head only. He won’t be able to handle the restrictive conditions and will snap. Once he snaps, fire him for cause and then settle out of court once he sues for something way cheaper than his existing contract. Promote one of the handpicked Coordinators to HC, and everyone can renew their season tickets with hope of a better tomorrow.
Dude stop. CU won 1 game last season, 1. They have already won 3 games and will likely win at least 4 more as they have the Arizona schools Cal and Stanford on their schedule. CU lost to the number 9 team on the road and to the number 5 team at home by 7, a team which has the likely #1 pick in the NFL draft at QB. He beat a team on the road that we lost to at home by 20 points!!!
If you really believe that CDH is a better coach than Prime then I don’t know what to say to you.
Ask yourself this: if we had Coach Prime leading this team and gave the CU team to CDH, who do you think would have a better record?
But don’t worry, we will all get to experience Coach Prime starting next season, when CU is in the Big 12. God help us.
Fans point to coaches, and hell yes, they deserve much of blame, but the players showed little fight and heart on defense. No clear leader. The tackling is all them.
This calculation is a bit off. We are paying out the buyout over the duration of his contract, not in a lump sum. So if we round up next year’s salary to $5 million, that’d require about 7,100 season tickets lost (assuming your $700 average cost) to make it worth it. We can lose more than that among other revenues.
We will lose a bunch of season tickets when u factor in the “Texas” affect, new Big 12 schedule, a lot of Brokers bought tickets, and a losing season and we will be back to our baseline hardcore fans minus me lol, if Dana isn’t gone I am
I think the university needs to look at football and say “what exactly is our goal?” Because idk what the goal is for this clown, is making a bowl game just good enough now or are we trying to compete for conference and playoff berths?
