What I do not want to see is early in the game is Roberts go to his bread and butter jump hook, and have Maluach block the shot with an ESPN Sportscenter Top Plays block. That will electrify the crowd and be symbolic of Duke’s dominance.
or if they call it like they’ve called SEC games against B12
Tennessee FTs = 20
Houston FTs = 4
That is all I am going to say.
Good analysis. I worry about the numerous foul calls against anyone guarding Flagg. The worst usually come early in the game as if to say, don’t touch him, let him go off, let him have a big game. Might be a cunning strategy to send Lath out there for a few hard fouls to let him know we are here to play.
I think you start your normal bigs but if we get called on a cheap foul or 2 on Flagg then yeah I’m good with putting Lath in there and telling him to foul Flagg ‘hard’ twice to make him a little more hesitant to try to drive and draw a foul. Remember these are mostly kids at Duke and we are mostly older and more experienced. Throwing a little healthy fear and chaos at 18 year old kids can only help us.
I just feel Terrence needs to kick start his motor. Maybe have him drink 4 cups of coffee just before game starts
Not coffee. Expresso.
Getting that contributing TA we got against Tennessee would be massive for us Saturday.
Might go cruise around Dook campus/Durham with my Coog gear on later… see what kind of talk I can get…
Seeing TA contribute offensively going forward (like he did against Tennessee) would be AWESOME! His defense has been good, but I would love to see him score like he did this past game
BTW … on just a tangential note… does anybody remember the last time TA dunked in a game?
Not complaining…i don’t care how the makes go in. It just occurred to me I can’t even remember one recently. Maybe early this season? Or not since the Achillles injury?
I’m pretty sure he had one at Arizona State this year and another one against Baylor.
He can still fly.
TA is one of the few players that can get his shot. His step back jumper is dangerous when he gets it going. Would love to see him have another big game like the one he had against Tennessee.
Our bigs need to go hard at the rim and dunk EVERYTHING. No soft stuff or it’s getting put back in their face.
I just hope our guys get some calls when they drive the lane. Uzan has to stay agresssive and Roberts needs to score some to loosen up the defense on the perimeter.
Overall we need a strong performance from our front court, mainly beating Duke on the boards. This is to key to getting second chance points, which is where we made a living against Tennessee. If Duke limits us to one shot all night then our chances of winning drop significantly.
Ok. Great if so. Thanks.
It just occurred to me that it would such a lift for everyone (no pun intended) if TA threw down a monster slam sometime soon.
So you really were looking for trouble in Indy. . The Truth always comes out.
Edit: i just don’t know if Kyle told us the Whole story.
Nah… Purdue fans started that but I’m not one to back down…
Noted & accepted.
Now that you mention that maybe I won’t go to Durham… they seem to have as many shootings per capita there as Houston…
Apparently, more… lots of NC cities on here…
Yeah, that’s BS.
No way in he// you they can justify this.
Duke’s pesik chimes in (hilariously they also think their pesik is far and above ours) they are often a snooty group, to be sure. To be clear, he’s very good, I just don’t know why there has to be a comparison
