Don’t want to run the risk of whatever group that’s targeting the event carrying out another attempted attack. That’d be my guess at least.

They win regardless. Remember 911 began the most cumbersome and stifling security protocols that are still in effect to this day.
This pisses me off in so many ways. Remember, we are constantly occupying soft targets - work, restaurants, schools, churches, malls, sporting events, and so forth.
