The University of Houston Swimming & Diving team opens its spring season on the road in San Antonio facing the University of the Incarnate Word at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Anne Barshop Natatorium.
ORDER OF EVENTS The dual meet features 15-events as the Cougars will go head-to-head against host Incarnate Word: 200 Medley Relay, 1000 Free, 200 Free, 100 Back, 100 Breast, 200 Fly, 50 Free, 1 Meter Diving, 100 Free, 200 Back, 200 Breast, 500 Free, 100 Fly, 3 Meter Diving, 200 IM and 400 Free Relay.
“We haven’t raced as an entire unit since the end of November, so it is nice to have everyone racing as one again,” Swimming & Diving Head Coach Ryan Wochomurka said. “We challenged the team hard this week to find a way to overcome a hard couple months of training and win under adverse conditions. We lacked in execution in many areas, but that just gives us a better understanding of what we need to address moving forward.”
UP NEXT
Houston will split its squad and compete in two separate meets its next time out. The swimming team will travel to Nashville, Tenn., to face off in tri-meet fashion against Arkansas and Vanderbilt, Jan. 20 and 21, while the diving team will compete in Clemson, S.C., against Clemson and Arkansas, Jan. 20 and 21.
