We definitely have posters who see every move as a nail in the coffin for Coogs football.
I’ve been hearing that crap since CUSA. Yet we’re still playing ball
Folks act like Shiel was the HC.
Except Gibbs left as part of a staff exodus when he didn’t get the head coaching job, and he moved to a conference that was a step-up in competition. Even so, he was better than Tech’s previous DC, for what that’s worth.
Hopefully, things work out the same, but I wouldn’t bet on it because of David Gibbs.
Remember when Herman said “i don’t know who Gibbs” and Coogfans we pleading with him to retain Gibbs. Coogfans aren’t serious football people
Not how i remember it
You don’t remember Herman getting the job that Gibbs wanted, then Gibbs opting to leave?
I remember Gibbs being rejected by Herman and Coogfans bellyaching. And then the Tony Orlando and Dawn jokes
Gibbs for HC, no that doesn’t register
Shiel is a highly mobile upward gunner. Look at his profile. I trust that Fitz is aware and prepared. If not then shame on him.
I’m just worried about losing a very good recruiting class. Coordinators come and go.
Yeah, there was some talk that Herman had made Gibbs an offer to stay on as DC, but I don’t know about that for sure. It was kind of murky as to how that all played out.
I’m pretty sure Gibbs threw his name into the hat for HC before Herman was hired.
Regardless, it was a totally different situation than what’s going on today and what happened after he left is kind of irrelevant and not predictive in the least.
Right. The stakes are higher now than ever before for UH football. We’ve invested more into facilities and staff than ever before. Media deals and realignment continually loom over head.
Literally have heard this since 1994
We spent hundreds of millions in the 90s?
You should be holding the new AD accountable. Not Fritz. Fritz doesn’t have a walmart piggy bank to dole out to people.
We have no idea how Fritz feels about this
Considering Wood’s history this can’t be surprising
I’m not worried about losing the DC.
I’m worried about the recruits.
That is our lifeline to the future.
Since some on here view Sheil as the next Nick Saban, when does he start doing commercial for AFLAC?
He’ll enjoy Lubbock. It’s pretty out there.
Smells great too
