So unusual in the middle of the season. Well, it does make the choice of which former Cougar to hire if that’s the route the AD chooses. Calling Seth Allen?

Sean Allen.

And limiting yourself to UH alums is short-sighted. If a change is made, it’s time to find the best possible option. Not the best possible former Rayner/Todd guy.

Dang, I think David Pierce is a good hire for them. I hope they don’t return to being a good program again.

I agree it should be the best possible option.
When I have said Sean Allen over and over it had nothing to do with who he was an assistant to….
The fact that he is a UH alum is nice but it’s not the reason I think he is the best person for the job either.
Dude has put in his time and done the work……there are 100’s of D1 coaches right now that are no where near as good as Allen would be.
Anyone that knows baseball and how recruiting works knows what I’m talking about.

I’m not going to write a dissertation here about why I feel he is the best man for the job.
If anyone wants to know they can dig through last years season thread or the year before.

But yall have fun just throwing out random names.

Could be he has been offered some smaller jobs but is holding out……he’s a smart guy.

Lot of jobs he could have interviewed and been offered most likely but they are places he didn’t want to go to and leave in a few years, etc.

I’m guessing the Allen and Pierce relationship is still pretty rocky after he fired Sean after the World Series.

I know first hand how things went down….

You don’t fire a guy that was just recently Assistant of the Year….i’ll leave it like that.

I do…as long as we do as well (with a good hire). Having a heated crosstown rivalry would be fun.
