They refused to trade him this summer. He was the only guy off limits according to multiple sources — or at least multiple articles.
what brand is that? do the sizes run true?
Grimes moves so well going backwards.

Nice for the Rockets to finally move him but why take minutes from Grimes when he is starting to go off ?
“Maybe, just maybe, if Houston were to lower their asking price for him, then it’d make a bit more sense. But the Rockets have been consistent in asking for a first-round pick for him.”
Gordon for Grimes. Who says no? Lol
Still a joke for the Rockets to take Christopher over Grimes.
Knicks laugh in our face
1972
Q is on his way to getting NYC famous. In a good spot already with Brunson. They are going to be a tough back court down the line.
Very odd choice with the Rockets brain trust having seen so much of him.
Christoper a SG who cant shoot 3s yet.
Yes, the Jersey run very true to size, I got a small jersey and it’s the perfect length for me at 5’8-5’9
Go back and look at my posts…I wanted Grimes even though many on here thought Christopher was the better pick… Damn it!
Side note: the Rockets are playing better lately.
We picked him simply because of Jalen Green. Maybe to help him get comfortable in Houston.
Imagine having Green, Grimes, and Smith for the next 10 years?
Grimes is going to average 15 pts and 5 Assists per game or more for a few years.
Grimes would be a nice fit next to Green since he doesn’t need to dominate the ball and plays defense. The positive side is Knicks players tend to get overpaid since they are covered pretty heavy.
How many steals and blocks…
NBA sometimes goes overboard with drafting for potential. Grimes always had a way higher floor than 90% of his draft class. Could be Desmond Bane type player
I said it then, I’ll say it now. Grimes was the right pick for the Rockets. They went with similar player Christopher instead. He’s not even on the team right now.
i think grimes would have thrives more in houston than NY… grimes has a knack for taking whatever role he is “supposed to take”… the role he would have taken in houston would be a bigger one than at new york… with the main rotation in NY he is the defense guy who shoots only when open…
but have you seen grimes when he subs the bench in (in a blowout win or loss) or in the summer league . whenever there are bigger/estabiloished guys in the rotation with him he looks like an allstar … he by default would have had a bigger role in Houston, he would have back down to the young houston players
at this point its undeniable the grimes would have been a better pick the christopher (who was jsut demoted to the gleague), not just in accomplishment but likely also in fit as he isnt ball dominant which clashes with green and kpj
but i agree christopher still has high potetntial… but his window of opportunity is closing and fast… likely has maybe 2 years to make a case to stay in the league
also @Kmoney still like the Christopher pick over grimes?
it wasnt about “role given” but roles grimes would “take”… if you watch the knicks grimes respects the older players. Even when he wasnt given the starting job originally he said Fournier has been in the league 11 years he should be the starter, “i have to work my way up”…
grimes defensive role, (kinda ignored in the offense unless open) is partially his own doing as he isnt aggressive or demands the ball with the starters … he plays the same position when the bench guys come in and his demeanor drastically changes… he calls and demands the ball from the younger guys, and regularly attacks off the dribble when they are in… he puts the mantel of star with the young guys
this is why i think he would have shined more with the rockets, grimes wouldnt have backed down from green, kpj, segun, smith, eason… most of the rockets roster is his age or younger… he would definitely demanded the ball more, like he does with the young knicks
Gary Bird lol
Grimes going off again tonight…
No championship has paid for itself more than the Knicks’ 1972 championship. You’d think they were the Lakers the way the media fawns over them. Not the 50-year drought dregs that they are.
