Prime to Colorado

No one is saying that he wanted to come or interviewed or whatever. Just that his tweets probably weren’t saying “I coach prime hate the city of Houston and don’t want to ever be near there”.

He’s talking in generalities…smalll town or big city, he’s telling the players that message. Nothing Houston specific or anti-large urban city

That’s an absolute terrible misread of what he is saying in those quotes. lol

If Tillman REALLY wanted him and they had a chance at him, they could afford it.

What people think Jackson MS was a shanty town? It’s a city the states, Capitol.

Except for that pesky fact that we didn’t have a job opening.

But that’s the point Tillman wasn’t willing to spend that kind if money. So it pointless ton even discuss it.

How do you know that he wasn’t? We don’t know any of the behind the scenes stuff. But to say that they didn’t have the money makes it seem like our program can’t make that kind of hire.

Oh so that’s what it’s about… we can’t be ok with our program not spending $30 million to hire a new coach. I see…

I mean you’re asking one guy to spend that money. We don’t have any other donors with the kind if money that Tillman has. And he had already taken massive losses because of COVID. Not mention already pledged $100 million to medical school. But how dare he not spend another $21 million to fire a Coach plus $7 million to hire a an unproven coach.

It’s a tough pill to swallow but we have to work up to that level of spending. We aren’t there yet.

I would agree with you if these were not quotes directly relating to him banning the the team from leaving the hotel in Houston because a guy died at a dice game in a city of 2 million people. It clearly affected him and 4 weeks later he moved to Boulder. I think Prime is exactly where he wants to be.

We’re not asking him to spend anything. He himself has taken on a defacto GM position of UH football. He basically makes those decisions. But when people say “we (the program)” don’t have the money for that, it’s not the case because the entire staff is being funded by a donor. Anyways.

Yes it’s being funded by Tillman alone. And now you are demanding he spend more more money on a big gamble. Because you don’t like his decision.

See, there is where you and several like you on this board go. You put words in people’s mouths. Where did I say or hope for that? I’m definitely not a Dana fan but I want him to succeed.
(Although he is winning me over some with his talk about Texas and A&M)

You’re literally trying to argue Tillman has the money to fire Dana and hire Deon… don’t back track now…

You literally didn’t get the point. I’m not back tracking. I’m forward tracking now. Moving on.

That doesn’t even make sense…

Still would say that’s a bad misread of what he’s saying. “Change your address” and not “kicking it” with the same people is not code for never living in a city. Y’all are stretching to connect dots that simply aren’t there. Him citing facts about Boulder is proof he hates cities and by extension, Houston? lol c’mon…

He loves houston and his kids do - he would’ve been here but does fertitta take a back seat to him?

You do realize who Jackson state loss? Lol

They lost major difference makers who everyone saw what the swac saw last year - ain’t hard to fall off after that

CU AD when asked how they were going to pay for Deion hire, “did they have the money”, he said no. But they’ll figure out how to pay him. That’s called stepping out on faith. UH has more resources than CU. UH has no vision or faith. Hence we’ll be stuck in mediocrity ville.

This is not true at all… CU has a far wealthier donor base than we do. And if you know who would have been willing to donate $30 million to hire Deon please tell us.

Also use the correct quote, this is what the AD said: “We don’t have the money yet, but I know we’ll have it so I’m not worried about that piece”

They just hadn’t finalized the money but the article makes it clear they had access to the necessary funds.

There was no “faith” in this hire. They didn’t have to pay $21 million to fire a coach before hiring Deon.
