They’re looking to capture the city wide support of Houston from the Oiler uniforms for UH which they derived from wearing them.

Am I the only one who watched today’s Texans vs Titans game and when I saw a Titans player with a recognizable jersey number, my mind went back 30 years. The first time was when I saw RB Tony Pollard, #20, and my mind was telling me it was Oilers RB Allen Pinkett.

So I get the Titans post game report, they even liberally used Luv ya Blue! which the NFL trademarked/pirated from the Oilers Dancers Inc. They were told never to use it again by the NFL.
I loved the Oilers but lets face it for much of their existence they were awful and they never won a championship.
Fighting over who owns all thing Oilers is like fighting over who owns all things St. Louis Browns or Cincinnati Royals / Kansas City Kings. Why? It would be like dressing up like Millard Fillmore for Halloween.

I like the Detroit Lions alternate uniform they are wearing tonight.
Andre Ware commented that it felt like watching a game in some alternate reality seeing the Oiler uniforms playing against the Texans.

These Texan players are young enough that they barely remember the Oilers. Some were not even born when they left. They don’t care what uniform the other team wears.
Maybe for some, but Tank, Nico, and Will Anderson (not exactly old timers) think the Texans should wear them. They’re young but they get it. JJ Watt gets it too. My kid was born six years after the oilers left and she talking about the disrespect every time the titans pull those out and lose to us.

I does not matter what You, Us, I think. The adams family has one purpose when it comes to the Oilers name and colors. Stick it to Houston and all Oilers fans. Until the nfl steps in this will never be resolved. It is another clear message that the nfl could care less about its own fans. By the way Titans fans could care less about the Oilers. This is why this is so childish and stupid.
Why would the NFL step in? The Titans own the rights to the Oilers color scheme and logo. They can wear the old uniforms whenever they want. It sucks they chose to wear them against the Texans to shove it in our face. It sucks worse for them that they can’t beat us.
