OT: Rivals #1 Recruit Flipping To JSU

Travis Hunter, the #1 recruit in the nation per Rivals, looks to be flipping from FSU to go play for Jackson State.

The single wildest recruiting story I have ever heard.

there’s got to be money involved somewhere, this makes zero sense otherwise.

I get wanting to play for Deion but to be the best in the nation and go play for a SWAC team? man…

Looked at Jacksonville State football facilities. Looks like UH in the mid 90s.

That was inevitable, though. Dude already has a 7-figure NIL deal. And there’s no way I’m believing that JSU is dramatically outspending FSU.

Deion giving FSU the middle finger for continuing to ride with Norvell. And giving him a 1 year extension, on top of it.

People underestimate Deion at the own peril. Deion knows how to talk to this kids and motivate them in ways few others know how to. Up in DFW he was very successful coach on the UIL for a charter school he founded. The Charter school failed but his success as a coach there was undeniable.

He’s also one of the greatest to ever put on football cleats. That doesn’t hurt, either.

This should put the nail in the coffin of the mantra that schools in far off, or undesirable locations have a disadvantage in recruiting.

Saying that Arkansas and Nebraska were down because they stopped playing in Texas was hogwash. They just didn’t have the right recruiters and coaches.

Imagine if we had had fantastic recruiters being in houston. SMH.

Can we hire Deion as a recruiter ? It would be sad if he ended up similar to Clyde for Jackson state.

Do not know how much of a difference it is in facilities but it is Jackson not Jacksonville St.

Jville State probably has the better facilities of the two; they’re a perennial FCS contender.

Coach Prime has his NFL connections. That is going to help his players.

He has weekly meetings held by current and former nfl hall of fame caliber folks. He does a ‘Ted talk’ type meeting weekly with these guys and they come in via zoom and chat with the players and tell them what they need to hear. He also is a great student of the game. For all his flash and non sense when he played he was a film room nut.

He also has nfl coaches on his staff. He is an incredible ceo, sales man and coach.

And for whoever said he should be hired as a recruiter, another year and he might be in charge of a p5 program.

Jackson State, an HBCU, doesn’t have money like that. The recruit will probably be in the Aflac commercials with Deion. There is no rule against it.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

It’s Jackson State, not Jacksonville. The Jackson State also produced Walter Payton.
