If I was Gundy I would thank them for the opportunity and wish them luck on their future endeavors. Maybe with slightly different language.

OSU needs to be careful with this. in their 110 years of playing football theyโ€™ve had (10) 10+ win seasons

I was talking to my OSU fan buddy. He said the older crowd wants to keep Gundy, they are afraid of going back to the old days. Young bucks are leaning toward a new regime.

Even OU has more patience than that, and theyโ€™ve actually won something.

Heโ€™ll have more attractive options than OK State, and heโ€™ll have $25MM to ease his transition.

Ok State doesnโ€™t have T. Boone Pickens bankrolling them anymore. Theyโ€™ve been fortunate to have both Gundy and Pickensโ€™ generosity over the years, and theyโ€™re unlikely to replace either one smoothly.

Okie Lite may be over reacting to one miserable season. The Pokes should give him another year to see if he can turn things around. Heโ€™s most successful coach in program history.

Not sure what Okie Lite is thinking here. Like others have said, Gundy has given them most of their winning seasons.

Granted that was in a non NIL era.

Me thinks that Gundy isnโ€™t an NIL guy. Old school type of HC.

Whatever. TBH, if you look at it financially, he is making a crap ton of money ($7.75M) to basically go 8-5 or worse every year. You telling me they canโ€™t find someone to do that for less? Heck we paid Short Jimmy Buffett (aka CDH) less. In fact, they can probably get CDH for a twelver and some spare change.
